A Baldwin In The Senate? Not Even

Filed under: Politik > Alec Baldwin

Contrary to previous reports, Alec Baldwin will not be running against Senator Joe Lieberman in the 2012 election!

Yeah, that's probably for the better!

Baldwin gave an interview to Playboy earlier this summer where the actor claimed he was interested in running against Sen. Lieberman in '12.

The Connecticut senator responded through CNN's State of the Union on Sunday, telling Baldwin to "make his day."

Sen. Lieberman must have scared Baldwin off, because a spokesperson for the 30 Rock star has said Baldwin believes Joe should keep his spot in office because of the lack of moderate Republicans in the Senate.

We can't imagine a Baldwin in the Senate - can U????

i hope he does run for office but i suspect he will continue to affect political change in other ways.
alec baldwin is a considered politico and the senate would be better for more members who consider the issues intelligently. lieberman is hardly anyone's 'better' option.

    3. 3

Good thing he is not running. We don't need another hot tempered foul mouthed loonie in the bin.

    4. 4

I dunno…… a guy that calls his 12 year-old daughter "a filthy little pig" in the government?
Then again - he might fit in, after all….

    5. 5

This one can! As long as he keeps his temper down. He's got to learn to get along with the good ole boys. Lot's of actors have done this. Sonny Bono comes to mind. etc…

I can imagine it, funnily enough, but I can't imagine Baldwin being able to limit himself to 5 minute speeches.

    7. 7

The LITTLE PIG DADDY will never make it — so many skeletons will come pouring from his closet that he doesn't DARE go down that road

    8. 8

Does he even know where Connecticut is? Alec is Mr. New York. While he's okay, I can't imagine the folks from CT voting him in.

    9. 9

If i could vote Alec Baldwin would get mine. He is way smater then that monster Liberman and at least Baldwin actually cares about the issues of the American people.

Joe Lieberman is a Mosad agent his ties to American Israel Public Affairs Committee.. AIPAC make him a fake her sucks up to whos in power to advance Israel's agenda not the agenda of Conneticut people or even Americas agenda!
      *
He a Democrat no he's a republican no he's a Democrat ! Come on he is Isreal's bitch in the senate!
      *
AIPAC amid an FBI investigation into whether they passed classified U.S. information received from Franklin on to the government of Israel. They were later indicted for illegally conspiring to gather and disclose classified national security information to Israel. AIPAC agreed to pay the legal fees for Weissman's defense through appeal if necessary, but charges were subsequently dropped due to Liebermans lobbing work (Liberman paid of key people with money from AIPAC).

Re: magentapyramid – I couldn't imagine Reagon or Arnold or Ventura, either, so what do I know. People have to prove themselves.

Abso-tively. Give people the benefit of the doubt - and let them prove themselves that they are indeed assholes.
I dunno about you - with all the MJ and Psycho Ryan news the last couple of days, I could sure use a cold one. You?

    14. 14

Glad to read that he is not interested - seriously there is not much glory and it is a lot like babysitting, but with adults - hope he just stick to acting as a Senator and he will have a lot less headaches!

    15. 15

I've met the guy and I believe he's one of the more well informed celebrities out there. He's an extremely intelligent guy, definitely on the level with Al Franken… and he was just named the biggest wonk in the Senate.

I can definitely see a Senator Baldwin, but it won't happen. Not any time soon anyway.

Even if moron Baldwin did run he would loose big time. The Dumbocrats are going to take a huge beating in the 2010 elections. People are disgusted and feed up with all the lies and corrupt politicians out there like Pelosi, Reid, Waters, Boxer, and Bwaney Fwank. If Messiah Wee Wee Dumbama had not made such an incredible mess of the economy and with his asinine health care proposition he might have made a difference. The trouble is he surrounded himself with morons and now the country is paying the price. Stupid people deserve their stupid Messiah Wee Wee Prez.

Your such an idiot! Bush fucked up the economy not Obama..
      *
The healthcare plan hasnt even been passed yet!
      *
The public option the Dems want is just that an option you can choose or not choose!
      *
The public option will cost 8 cents in every dollar for admin Private healthcare costs 30 to 39 cents in every dollar for admin and profit for share holders!
      *
Would you rather a plan that spends 92 cents in every dollar on health care?
      or
Would you rather a plan that spends 61 cents in every dollar on health care?
      *
Bush spent 3 trillion on Iraq for a war you didnt need to find chemical weapons that didnt exisit.
Obama wants to spend 1 trillion dollars at the most over 10 years to make sure every one has health care you can keep your own Private health care if you choose.. You will just pay less for it! They wont be able to deny you for pre exising conditions!
      *
You guys are fucked the whole worlds laughing at how stupid these town hallers are!

If he calls Pelosi a rude little pig she'll rip him a new one before he knows she heard about it and he'll be riding out of D.C. backwards & tied up on a donkey.

    23. 23

Okay I actually LIVE in CT and first of all, Joe Lieberman isn't a republican. His an independent although in his first three senate terms (his currently serving his fourth) he was a democrat. And, again, he's not a republican, nor does he vote republican (he votes democrat about 90% of the time, the 10% is mostly about overseas policy (the war)). And also, people here don't really like him because he so betrayed the democrats who elected him when he turned his back on the party in the 08 election because McCain was his friend so if we could get an ACTUAL democrat that'd be awesome. (that may sound like I'm contridicting myself but that 10% is usually about, like, the war which is pretty important so him not voting with what his constituants want REALLY sucks)

If i took Alec Baldwin's brain, and shoved it up a gnats ass, it would look like a BB in a box car. Joe Lieberman is a true american man. Love him. Alec, while a good actor, is just that. Shlatz.

    26. 26

dear God, if Alec Baldwin gets even close to the White House, we will all be screwed. It's bad enough having Obama in office. geez.
