MTV Scores With British Hit!
It's gotta be better than The Hills!
After an intense bidding war, MTV has acquired the rights to develop a U.S. version of the U.K. hit Skins.
The series follows a group of coming-of-age Brits as they search for love and happiness, but don't let that fool you.
It has been described as a British Gossip Girl, but there's far more sex and drug use on the show!
“We are delighted to be making ‘Skins’ for the U.S. and in particular, for MTV who have embraced the show and its ambitions and unusual production process," said Company Pictures CEO, Charlie Pattinson. "We are looking forward to talking to teenagers across the U.S. and making a show that reflects their lives in every aspect.”

Even though I am in Canada I must agree with you angry Brits lol I LOVE Skins, but MTV, really? Will it have any similarities!? It couldn't possibly, its way to conservative! That's the whole reason I started watching British shows (which absolutely rule! I love Secret Diary of Call Girl too!) I love GG too but I don't draw the similarities of the two shows. Why, instead of re-making the show to fit some shitty U.S. FCC standards, not put the original Skins in syndication on a station that would not censor or edit anything? What pisses me off too is that people watching this new U.S. version will think it is a U.S. show and try and take credit for it! Just like the Office!
