You're lying to yourself if you think you don't want to.

Barbra Streisand's new single, Here's To Life, off of her new album, Love Is the Answer, just came out.

It's soft, sleepy, and maybe just a tad bit slow.

      Not bad.

    2. 2

Barbra still has an amazing voice… no auto tune, no effects, a true singer! So refreshing to see a veteran singer, blow away any teenie singer on the planet. Hope a few of the songs on this new CD are more up tempo!

I ate it up and spat it out!

    8. 8

      Freaking lameee song.

    9. 9

Made me miss my dad. The arrangement was reminiscent of something Sinatra or Bennett would sing. Like old Nelson Riddle or Don Costa.

    10. 10

Dang witch retired like 7 times already. Retire and take that beak with you.

    11. 11

This is not a music for Perez Hilton ..

    12. 12

      It Jazz Perez JAZZ

    13. 13

She's Streisand..and is great, but Shirley Horn's version is FAR superior. Oddly enough, Johnny Mandel, who did the string arrangement for Bab's album as well as Horn's 1991 version, seem to have cribbed his own work. No new arrangement there. Seek out Shirley Horn's album, "Here's TO Life."

So… you censored my comment about your advertising.???? HMMM… guess you know they're knock offs too then…LMAO

    15. 15

I never liked her but this is pretty

    16. 16

Great interview, and the song is already a classic…her voice is so amazing even after all this time!

    17. 17

      Re: RussellJane – Absolutely!

    18. 18

Never been a fan of Barbra, but she does have a great natural voice.
Too bad she hasn't really tried a variety of songs/music a little more .. she gets monotonous.

    19. 19

Re: Pervert – Hate you like this.

    20. 20

      sounds christmasy…..

    21. 21

Makes Katy Perry and Siimy pale in comparison for sure…SLIMY and KATY can't even tie the bitch's shoelaces…Barbra forever!

    22. 22

      RicklovesBarbra: Oh yeah.
      No doubt about it,
La Streisand's voice is a gift from heaven.
      Always has been
      Always will be.
The one constant of my life.
      Barbra do you hear me?

    23. 23

all kidding and snide remarks aside….THAT'S a singer.

      24

It's a 'Jazz Vocal'. That's the way it's meant to be sung. Shirley Horn won a Grammy for it and she sang it the exact same way.
No, it's not a poppy disco anthem you narrow minded idiot.

    25. 25

she's still got it! papa, can you hear me…?

    26. 26

She is amazing! it just makes me laugh and feel so sorry for this retarded gay guy, he has no clue about music! he thinks that lady gaga and siimy are good……. hahahahaha looser

    27. 27

So how much do artists pay you to rent out your flabby, cum-soaked anal tract, Mario?

Yea, sure, you just put this up there because you like Streisand?

    28. 28

      Classic Streisand! Quite Lovely!!!

    29. 29

Amazing! Makes me love her even more! She is the last of a passing musical breed. Real singing, real songs, real emotions, real!

    30. 30

Actually I'm perfectly fine not listening to that. Speak for yourself, P.

    31. 31

The late, great Minnie Riperton–Lovin' you is easy ’cause you're beautiful– could sing Barbra Streisand right out of the room. She had no equal vocally.

    32. 32

      Re: SWEETPIECE!

      Sweet,

Love for the version by Shirley Horn. It is on her album called With Strings. If you like Streisands you might just love Horns. And the whole album for that matter.

    33. 33

I am a little disappointed. I thought this might be a great album if she was doind a jazz album…but it doesn't sound too great to me. Sounds like she is not really putting anything into it. Too bad…but I will still buy it.

    34. 34

      Why?

I used to be a huge fan of her but I really was over her after that Malibu fiasco!! It was such a slap in the face to the people that made her wealthy!

    35. 35

      Re: huss417 – 32 thanks!

    36. 36

Well, she is 100 years old. Still sounds like buttah though =)

I really love the sound of her voice on this song -wow! In the past, I haven't cared for her so much, as I thought she did more yelling instead of singing when she sang. She has a beautiful voice when she sings this kind of soft melody. Beautiful, and amazing that she sounds this wonderful still.

    38. 38

      I HATE this bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    39. 39

Re: Pervert – hahaha yeah the skank keeps coming back to torture us with her UGLYYYYY face!!

    40. 40

hey fugly Babs…Rosie ODonnell wants to screw you!

    41. 41

barbra sounds as amazing as she did when she burst onto the scene at age 19. there's not a young singer today to compare.
lady caca ??? katy perry ??? lily allen ??? don't make me laugh. those are not singers, they are pop tarts. barbra is a treasure.

    42. 42

      You're no music officianado bitch

    43. 43

YAWNNNN FEST!! WONT SELL HIGH EXCEPT TO THE OVER 60 CROWD WHO LIKES 1930'S B&W COVER SONGS. TOO SLOW, OLD, AND DATED!! THE VOICE IS THERE BUT NOT THE MUSIC. TOO BROADWAY.. EXPECTED A MORE MODERN JAZZ PIECE. HEY, HELL OF ALOT BETTER THAN TRAIN WRECK SUBO!!

    44. 44

      She sounds great.

    45. 45

      Re: Pervert
–Dang witch retired like 7 times already. Retire and take that beak with you.–
      x
She has never said she was retiring. As with Cher, all she said is that she was not going to go on huge multi-city tours anymore.

    46. 46

      just incredible…nice to hear her raw voice…so rare to hear that…her breathes…not over produced..something we're not used to…she is a class act…

    47. 47

amazing voice!! what classy woman living her age… and yeah finally a real singer! she sings and not screams!

Flawless Streisand does it yet again, with a relaxed, sultry new feel. That 'feel' is likely in part courtesy of Canadian Jazz singer Diana Krall, who produced this album. I love Krall too, so I'll be picking this one up. Yes.

    49. 49

I don't relate well to this kind of music, but you can't deny a beautiful and unusual voice.

    50. 50

You can't argue with the quality of the voice - she is stellar. But the song is not going to help her sell records. Don't get me wrong, the song is great, but it is not the way you introduce people to the new album. It's not going to generate any enthusiasm. If you want to get people to buy, do what they do on that karaoke cover standby, American Idol: sing something people recognize.

I was interested in hearing what she has been up to, but this song has cooled my enthusiasm.

    51. 51

      Classic and beautiful…. :)

    52. 52

      Good song.

    53. 53

      zzzZZZzzz zzzZZZzzz zzzZZZzzz

    54. 54

      Pure bliss.

    55. 55

What a beautiful song - this is music and TALENT. I hope she outsells overproduced Mariah and Whitney - I used to like Whitney but she became so ghetto… Either of these two singers would sell their souls to be as good as Streisand. She is the Mother of all singers - the one everyone dreams of replicating or reaching the heights she has set. Who cares how old she is? She still has it. :)

It's a little predictable, but hey, what does she have to prove to anyone. The girl has won awards in every major entertainment category there is, and has always sang to her own tune in the face of what was popular at the time, and still managed to do well.

    57. 57

I have always always loathed her voice and material. It is so wooze. For middle aged people…. did not bother to listen …………………………..

    58. 58

      :|

    59. 59

      I thought she "retired"??? :|

    60. 60

Very good yes but, all her songs sound the same!

    61. 61

Barbra has done everything, from disco to broadway, obscure jazz numbers, singer-songwriter soft rock, ballads, and beyond. True artistry, and this is one more jewel in her crown. Beautiful woman, beautiful voice. She took the rule books and threw them out the window…

    62. 62

I love her. A living legend.

Re: Richie2000 – I think she might sell, because her music targets the older people who grew up with Babs and mostly have money, and that age group will buy a CD like hers. If those people have kids, they might buy the download with their kid's help if they don't know how to do it themselves. Babs has plenty, anyway, along with James Brolin. I'm happy for her in that regard.
