Travis Barker Tweets The Record Straight (Or What He'd Like Us To Believe)

We mentioned this morning that Travis Barker was asked by the cops to leave the home of his ex-wife Shanna Moakler's family after a bitter showdown between the two in Rhode Island on Monday.
We were to understand that the argument was over a nanny Travis wanted to stay with the kids while they were with their mom, which Shanna refused. Now we're told, via Travis' Twitter page that it was something else entirely. Travis explains:
"Would u leave your kids at a house where a child molesters(Rick Sinnott) car was present? Me neither. The REAL reason the cops were involved yesterday."
For those of you who don't remember, Rick Sinnott is alleged Shanna's uncle, an alleged convicted child molester (according to Travis), and Barker has made it very clear he is unwilling to let his kids be in the presence of this man. Along with the Tweet was a picture of Rick's license plate, acting as proof that Rick was at the house when Travis arrived.
Shanna has denied that she has a child-molesting uncle.
He said/she said.
These two need to just work out their beef in court!

1. Why on Earth would Shannon allow this person near their kids?
2. If it's true, it would be easy for Travis to present proof of conviction in court. The uncle's presence would be taken care of by the courts.

Yes, there is record of a Richard Sinnott convicted on child molestation charges in the early 90's in Newport County, Rhode Island. Pretty easy to find on the web with a couple clikcs. Who knows if it is the same guy or not, but you can bet I would not leave my kids in the presence of someone who had been convicted of these types of charges. I would have no problem advertising the dirt bag as such if someone was knowingly putting my kids in this kind of danger. I would hope that Travis is also talking to his lawyers about custody if this is in fact true.

Draw the line somewhere, Perez. I love the trashy celebrity gossip as much as you do, but joking about child molesters is not ok. If there is even a chance that this man was there and that he is a convicted child molester, then I applaud Travis for trying to protect his children. There's no reason for those kids to be around a man that might pose that kind of danger to them. Just because Shanna isn't putting her business out there like Travis doesn't mean that she is a better parent or that the kids are safer with her. You all need to realize that not eveyone who is a sex offender is going to be registered. It has not always been the law that people have to be registered, so older offenses may not show up on registration web sites. Also, many offenders fail to register and fall through the cracks. You can, however, look this particular name (Richard Sinnott) up through a criminal search on the Rhode Island courts website and it does show a convictiction for molestation of a child in the early 90's. Defendant pleaded No Contest and received probation. He also has a nice little DUI arrest. Classy guy.
Just google Rhode Island Judiciary - Homepage . From there, click on the Criminal Information Search. Click on Search by Name, then Accept the terms. Search by Last name "Sinnott" First name "Richard".
No way of knowing whether this is the same guy that Travis is referring to or not. But, to the people saying there is no record of this name on the Registered Sex Offendor sites, you need to all be aware that those sites are not 100% accurate, but court records don't lie. A lot of counties put their court records online for public searches these days. Use every avenue when you suspect someone of this type of thing. Do not rely on the registered offendor lists alone!!!!

Judging from this guy's behavior, I'd say he's the one those poor kids should be concerned about. Anytime I hear about him tweeting or MySpacing insults about the mother of his children (regardless of her own problems) I can't help but think what a 2-year old he is. Grow some balls and handle your business like a man, not like some passive-aggressive whiner out for attention and sympathy. I had a good friend who was killed in a plane crash. I can't help but think that if he had a second chance at life, he would have never treated it like this tool. Get a life, Travis, and start focusing on being an adult with two kids (if you care about them growing up to be healthy at all). This is the kind of behavior that will mess your children up for life.
