Although no one knows why Kate called the police, the mom of eight headed over to her home because she thought it'd be better for the kids to spend the night with their mom, rather than some floozy of a babysitter.

Regardless of what Kate may think, it's perfectly legal for parents to leave their kids with a babysitter during their custodial period. He has no legal nor parental responsibility to stay home with his children 24/7 when they're under his guard. That might be preferred but you cannot assume because he chooses to go out that he's a deadbeat. Lot's of divorced parents go out on dates and such when it's their turn with the kids. Granted I'm not sure the bars he's going to and the people he is spending time with are even worth the babysitting fees, but that's up to him to decide.

Even though I think Jon should stay in while it's his time with the kids, it's not illegal to or neglectful (legally) to go out once they are asleep….as far as I know.
He could just as easily go out on his "off times"and he is being a dick IMO…but he's not breaking any rules.

Not many marriages can survive the glare of a constant camera, history and reality tv has proven that. For people who think Kate is fake or acting, I don’t think Kate is fake at all. I think she is the opposite. She is –brutally- honest. That is why; it is hard to watch reality show sometimes.

So what if Kate has problems with one person (Jon) on camera. We all have that one person that knows how to push our every button with just a slightest movement, keyword or gesture. May be just by a slightly heavy breathing from Jon can pushed Kate’s button and be a straw that broke the camel’s back for Kate. We don’t really know the true history between them or what went on behind the cameras, 24×7. We only see bits and pieces in less than 30 minutes a week and only from what they wanted us to know.
There are celebrities out there that are far worse and nasty to public bystanders, go nuts trashing public properties, hurt paparazzi etc. (Imagine what went on inside these celebrities’ home?) Kate did not do any of that. She only yelled mostly at “Jon” and not others. We were -not- supposed to see these things, what happens inside their household, until TLC poked their camera lens inside to make the show. It -would not be pretty- if TV network, park their cameras inside one of the regular people houses for everyone to see. She is not fake if she yelled at the person who knows how to get under her skin (Jon) and nice to other (innocent) people and on interviews. We all have moments particularly with a certain people. This is a reality TV and it is not a scripted TV. Only on the scripted TV show the actors/actresses supposed to stay within their characters (bad vs. good) if they broke outside of their characters then we would considering them –fake- (or fishy). Don’t get confused scripted TV with reality TV where people are just people!!
