Booed In Concert! Madonna Likes Gypsies; Fans Do Not

wenn-maddona.jpg

Madonna's fans tend to kiss the ground the beloved singer walks on, but apparently, they don't see eye-to-eye on everything.

A crowd of 60,000 people in Bucharest, Romania, began to boo Madge last night when she spoke out against discrimination against Gypsies in eastern Europe. She explained that no one should be discriminated against and that it made her "sad" that Gypsies, also known as Roma, face this kind of plight.

That's when thousands of Romanian fans, who did not agree, loudly booed the pop star. She didn't react.

One day, free thinking people like our Madge will say things like that and it will be received warmly and with enthusiasm. We hope to see that day come sooner rather than later.

I actually applaud her for this one.

    2. 102

Good for her, I admire her speaking up like that…look..no one else will.
Open up your minds folks, and your hearts.
      Thats why we love Madonna

    3. 103

i hope i never see that day come !!!
madonna´s an ASS !… an old one !
      .
thank God there´s still people with values around the world… cuz most of the people here in america are just so wasted and full of crap… like madge !

    4. 104

I totally agree with her. Descrimination or prejudice of any form is not cool. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! :D

    5. 105

how come that she spoke out agaist discrimination and she´s the first one discriminating against catholicism/christianism ??? not very coherent !!!…
      MAD-ASS !

    6. 106

This is one that caught my eye. My granddad is full blooded Romanian Gypsy (Roma). His parents, who moved here before he was born, I suspect came to the States for this this reason and were lucky to escape the Holocaust as the rest of their family was not. I have also met many Europeans, mainly Eastern Europeans, who have told me about the discrimination that Gypsies face wherever they go in Europe. Usually, they are young and do not seem to feel the same way as their families or at least don't tell me, but Spain, Romania, Italy, Hungary….it really does not matter, Gypsies are kind of hated throughout the world. Even where I grew up in Kansas, people made negative comments when I said my dad was half Gypsy. Thanks, kind of, Madonna.

    7. 107

PS.- HER FACE LOOKS KIND OF WEIRD :S

    8. 108

Wow, no one has any sympathy! I am not from Eastern Europe and I have never seen a Gypsie but I don't think that it's necessary to discriminate them. In Mexico the many indigenous people seem to only beg for money, use their children to go out and beg for money by themselves and the description many gave of Gypsies actually reminded me of indigenous people in Mexico and they're still not discriminated nearly as much as Gypsies. I think maybe people need to try to maybe make them feel more welcome show some kindness, and the government needs to obviously create a program where they try to integrate them into society.

    9. 109

but people paid to hear her sing not preach…no matter how much money and fame she has that does not give her the right to preach and push her opinions on people

    10. 110

Hmm. i love gypsies. my neighbor was a gypsy. she was awesome, but she did steal out cooking wear (no joke) but she was an awesome fortune teller. she had an accent and everything.

    11. 111

Re: alfabravoRe: bee85 – some of the examples you gave of the horrible things they do see all the time in Mexico with indigenous people or hear about them. I think people are like this because they feel discriminated against and they feel they have no choice but to live by any means necessary. I am truly bothered by people's responses to this story. Who cares that Madonna said it? It's a fact and one that maybe she felt to express because maybe she hopes that her fans will think next time they want to say something negative about/to gypsies. There are people who see her as their role model (not me though) after all.

    12. 112

she is just using her voice and trying to make the world a better place!!!
      Bravo!!!

    13. 113

That's so sad! Romanians are ass holes.

    14. 114

      Re: PerezHilton
My dear you are so wrong on this point, you have no ideea
Gypsies were never slaves, they have always had exactly the same rights as the rest of us, they were able at any point to attend school and get great education, they were always able to get an equal job to the rest of us romanians.
So you see the difference. For so long the blacks were ostricized and held back by white ppl in US.
Gyspsies chose the life they have by taking their children out of school after gr4 they took their own choices away. They led themselves to a life of crime and that is why we have 0 sympathy for them. My aunt who is a teacher actually went to a gypsies home and pleaded with the leader of the fam to let this one kid stay and finish at least up to gr 8 because he was so smart. His fam would not because they said he has to marry and has responsabilities at home. The kid was 12 and was lucky he got to go to grade 6.
And dont think they have it bad. In some cityes they have created homes that look more like palaces. Some have way more money than the regular romanians and its not because they have a career or a job its because they go around Europe stealing and whatnot. Black ppl dont inflict themselves like a plague on other nations and countries or even on their own.

    15. 115

Its so sad… bc of them everyone assusmes romanians are gypsies…i remember one time some romanian soccer players were playin in Italy and the spectators booed them and said GO HOME GYPSIES to them!!!!!!!!! it disgusts me

    16. 116

Fans kissing the ground is one thing but why perez do you kiss her ass?

    17. 117

Your statement, "One day, free thinking people like our Madge will say things like that and it will be received warmly and with enthusiasm. We hope to see that day come sooner rather than later.", is totally illogical. non-prejudicial norms regarding gypsies has to predicate "one day" in order for the said group of people (in this case, the concert-goers who booed) to not react in opposition to the ideology or reality of equality, which in turn would make Madonna's statement unnecessary, because the prejudice no longer exists.

    18. 118

Re: MINXLIVES – Probably the most intelligent comment on this blog, other than perhaps my own - no offense.

    19. 119

madonna has a cush life (because of the great entertainer she is), but if she doesnt actually know how it may be living there and due to those people that have no conscience and will rob and pillage, maybe she should keep her mouth shut. what does she truly know? it is ignorant…

    20. 120

YOU don't live in Romania, YOU don't know how it is! End of story!

    21. 121

Re: paula tallarico – I agree with you. Madonna always discriminates christianism in her concerts by using props with religious semnificatin and here she is talking herself about discrimination. Mabye if she got out of her hotel during her stay in Romania she may have seen why roma aren't tolerated. Anyway you are generalizing. not all romanians are against roma because they are not all the same; but unfortunately the majority is stealing and cheating. There are several campaigns in Romania that want to help roma children to go to school and have a better live but their parents prefer to send them stealing and begging. If Madonna had got out of her shiny world and saw for herself mabye she would have kept her mouth shut.

    22. 122

I happen to be from Romania, and I happen to belong to an ethnic minority, so believe me I would be the last person to discriminate… but Madonna is a pop star and not an expert on interethnic relations, this is a highly sensitive and complex subject that cannot be summed up and solved in five minutes during the hiatus of a pop concert non the less. People should not address issues they have no idea about. But then again Madonna is all about controversy so I guess she achieved what she wanted!

    23. 123

I am from Romania. You don't know what is the reality if u don live in here. Gypsy never pay the taxes, gypsy steal, are aggressive, spit on you on streets, make crimes, they don't respect any rule, they rapes, deal with drugs, pimping forced girls in prostitution, they think they own the world, they have their own legislation and don't care about the country, they trick old people to get their houses. As a teenage i was cared of them going at shop over the road because there were a band of 3 gypsies that think they own that place we i use to live and any girl that didnt answer positive to their advances could be any time raped and humiliated. Are gypsies in thi scountry that are having money to buy their brides with 100 000 euro and the wedding to cost 1 mil euro, their funerary services are costing 15000 euro only the box and so on. Same gypsies do nothing yet to have this money, u never see them working they never pay taxes. So Madona want equal right, I suggest her to adopt them and wash he r head with them because WE HAD ENOUGH!

    24. 124

      Re: lulujay
oh my gawd those poor romanian soccer players….well boo hoo bitches :-P

I applaud you Peretizo. And I even applaud Maddona for this (although those scary arms and sucky music lately really turned me off).

Im a Gypsie living in Eastern Europe and dont tell me that every Gypsis is a murderer, a thief or a rapist. All of my Gypsie friends are educated, a few of them even went to college, me included :-P None of them killed or robbed someone! You are all stupid assholes if you really believe that Gypsies are "bad people" just because they are Gypsies. Yes there are some criminals, but not all of my kind are criminals. I really wish for all of you to go jobhunting just for one day as a Gypsie and tell me that there is no discrimination in Eastern Europe.

      Shame on you!!!

    25. 125

      Re: observer2
"I happen to be from Romania, and I happen to belong to an ethnic minority"

      also u r a liar!!!

    26. 126

Maybe she should talk about it in Budapest not Bukarest. You know it's bigger problem here.
livelovemusic: Gypsies aren't evil. What's wrong with you? My best friends, my boyfriend are all gypsies, I lived in between them for 18 years and there's nothing wrong with them. Maybe you are the one who shouldn't talk about things you don't know about. Don't sweeping statement.

    27. 127

I am a 22 year old Romanian, moved in dubai a year ago. I would like to tell all of you people that if you've only heard of Gypsies from the movies or something you definitely have things quite screwed up in your minds. I am 100% not a racist, more than that the city I live in has hundreds of nationalities. even in my office I work with 8 people all from a different nationality. All the Romanian people dislike the gypsies who refuse to go to school, who steal and do all sort of crimes, who smell in public trasport because they don't believe in hygene. More than that, a few years back a lot of them went to Italy as beggars and did a lot of crimes there, dragging our name in dirt alonside theirs. How can we look at them with admiration like Madonna does? She's never had to suffer because of them. I think that she lives in a bubble of her own, doesn't really know what the real world is like.
I had a classmate in highschool who was a gypsy and she was very intelligent, I actually admired her for raising above the stigma, but she is one in a million.
As for Madonna, SHE should have more respect for the nationalities she visits. I heard that she lip-singed the entire show… yeah, real artist my ass. Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Bob Dylan, Guns'N'Roses, Steve Tyler etc - those are real artists over 50!

    28. 128

Gypsies are terrible!! I live in the U.S. and have come across people of gypsy decent.. All they ever have done is lie and try and get free stuff.. I feel badly for the people of europe who have to deal with them..

    29. 129

Madonna's Sticky and Sweet Tour is the best show ever and the highest grossing tour by a solo artist with over $400 Million dollars in ticket sales.

    30. 130

I`m sure Madonna never had a gipsy neighbour…..
Where ever they move in the property prices fall by 50-60 per cent. Why?????

    31. 131

      Good on Madonna!!!!
I am so proud of her.
Now, if she could just dump Jesus, I will be even prouder.

    32. 132

I am Romanian and I have nothing against Roma people that live respectful lives, but living around gypsies all my life, I can tell you that:
      - they stole my baby cousin to sell her
      - they mutilate even their own children and make them beg, they make them blind or cut off their legs and arms and make them beg
      - they don't know how to read or write, they don't go to school, even if the government gives them special places
      - they "go to bathroom" in the middle of the street
      - they curse you, they spit on you if you don't give them money or for no reason whatsoever
      - they pay no taxes, they don't even have ID, they shoplift, steal, sell stolen products and aggress you if you won't buy them
      - they are VERY violent, gypsy men touch young girls on the street, they slap you, follow you on the street and speak dirty words, grab your intimate parts (even the kids do so), they are extremely loud and very smelly
      - they do not act with reason, they are illogical, wild people, you can not communicate with them, a conversation is just not possible, you will get hit.
      - I live my life in STRESS because of them, since they are agressive for no reason. I get scared every time I see one on the street (with good reasons, like the ones mentioned above).
      I. AM. NOT. KIDDING. about any of this. All my encounters with gypsies have been of this nature, no exception.

    33. 133

As always Westerners think its ok to lecture and when they misfire they ask us to evolve. That's not only annoying its also insulting and that's why I went through the trouble of registering a nickname on this site and speaking against the bullocks you like to spread as universal truths. Discrimination is too sophisticated a word for the situation of the gypsies in Romania, they have and always will be a pariah social segment and to your huge surprise, if you bothered to look into things before opening the pie-hole, they have grown used to that status and will not let go. It is a minority you cannot really deal with as you would imagine because all their leaders are looking only after personal benefits and couldn't care less about their fellow-gypsies. They are a constant source of unprovoked trouble and will never fit into a modern society. Furthermore you are ignoring the fundamental fact that the eastern-European societies are still young and lack experience in dealing with such a problem - on the other hand look at how far more experienced societies like the Italians or the Germans have dealt with them - they've packed and sent them back: does that tell you anything?
Sometimes I wish that stupid words like yours and Madonnas were boomerangs that came back and hit you in the arse. Bleah. So that's what the 'famous blogger' is all about.

    34. 134

Everyone who lives in Europe hates gypsies for a reason. They steal, send their kids out steal, are violent, don't pay taxes, don't send their kids to school, move onto people's private land and make a mess of it etc etc You would think after living in England for so long she'd know this, gypsies are a big problem there as well.

    35. 135

First, the reason Romanians booed Madonna is because we(i'm romanian too) are sick of people always thinking of us as gypsies.
I'm not a racist or anything, but these people go out in the world to steal and bring shame to our country.
So when Madonna started talking about gypsies last night,it was clear to the fans that this is what everyone out there thinks of us:that we're all gypsies.
Don't get me wrong, though, not all of them are like that and I respect the ones that aren't.But most of them are too lazy to get a job so they just beg for money and when you don't give it to them, they steal.

    36. 136

      seriously guys
      STOP IT!!!!
noone cares about romania so stop embarasing yourself
its like 125 comments from romanians (all about how bad the Gypsies are) …stop it!!!
      its embarassing!!!

    37. 137

      it's easy to judge Romania
you people should stay in Romania for a period and then talk about discrimination for the gypsies
i don't think you'll manage to survive or handle the situations created by the "poor, discriminated"gypsies

    38. 138

Her publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said Madonna and other had told her there were cheers as well as jeers.

"Madonna has been touring with a phenomenal troupe of Roma musicians who made her aware of the discrimination toward them in several countries so she felt compelled to make a brief statement," Rosenberg said in an e-mail. "She will not be issuing a further statement."

So it's not news reports that made her aware of the situation, but her Roma musicians, after all. In other words, "the gypsies made me do it, boo hoo." Blame the gypsies, honey, just like the rest of the world! Isn't that … hmmm, don't know… some sort of discrimination? Not to mention ironic…

    39. 139

Irony aside, maybe she should also be touring with a band of maimed children (yes, they do maim their own children for begging purposes, when they're not selling them for houses and expensive cars, that is), raped girs sold into slavery and prostitution, old people tricked out of their houses and left to die on the streets, people with their faces cut with razors in the bus for not giving up their wallets "willingly", and so on and so forth, to name just a few types of victims. That could help her get a second opinion, the other side of the story, maybe even reach a more realistic conclusion. Or, at least, shut her mouth on subjects she knows little to nothing about. All that equality for all, flower-power, beautiful costumes and exotic music package looks and sounds nice, but smart and un-biased people should look beyond that, judge objectively, form an opinion based on facts and voice it if and only if something good can come of it.

    40. 140

Do not place judgement on things you don't know, especially when you're a public figure with a strong and influential voice. All you do is harm people, including those you think you defend. And that goes to all the Madonnas of the world, including you, Perez. You, of all people, should know better.

This may be the way, but only if led by responsible and well-informed individuals.

      141

I have visited eastern european countries as a tourist and let me say gypsies aren't such a pleasant sight, the send their children over to tourist buses, if you give them money they grumble for giving little or a euro instead of the currency of the country, they continue to follow you around and pest you to give money until you leave and if you give them they want more more more. Madonna instead of talking should do a favour to the planet and share her millions to those who are really in need. And now gypsies aren't the only problem in Europe, one can now add the continuous flow of illegal immigrants who say that they are from somalia.

    42. 142

      TO betty_nono

What exactly am I lying about? The fact that this is a sensitive and complicated issue that can not be resolved in five minutes? Or the fact that I am not judgmental mainly because I am a Hungarian (large minority in Romania) living in Romania and know what it is like to belong to an ethnic minority? I understand that you are frustrated because of the stereotypes that stigmatize your people, which make it harder to succeed in life, but by taking it out on persons who are actually open minded you will definitely not help anyone, including your people!
P.S. I am glad that you and your friends managed to set positive examples, maybe this is what you should focus your energy on, to help others do the same!!!

      1. Stupid. Just sing/playback my darling. Most people payed a few month's salaries for your concert..
      2. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I personally am getting sick of being looked upon as a thief and have people avoid me just because of what my wonderful [unfairly discriminated against] rroma [that is the correct spelling btw] conationals are doing abroad

    44. 144

      betty_nono
You are wrong. Many does care about Romania. And if you then don't write, no one forced you into it.
In other order guys, I have to say that there are and gypsy that are hard working and honest. But they number is far to small to cover the one that does the other bad things. Madonna talked about something that she had no idea about, people reacted as they felt. I can say that is not discrimination, many romanian people accept gypsy as they are and even ignore the bad things that they do. Also, there are romanian with bad behaviour as I am sure that there are americans, french, english, germans and other nationality. We do receive them in our schools and we accept them work along us if they want to as long they respect some hygienic norms. There are gypsy that are hard working, they are footballer, engineers, photographers etc. We don't say nothing about those, we have respect for those people and I am sure they do have respect for us too. We don't discriminate but most of them do ignore our needs and legislation as a country, which is not fair. If Madonna feels like we treat them bad, why don't she do something about it. Few words that have been learned before she went on stage won't help no one.

      Re: observer2 – Good man:).

    46. 146

      Sing woman don't preach!

    47. 147

Why does she have to pipe up with her opinion during a concert? Because she knows she has a captive audience then. No one would listen to her otherwise. She needs to mind her own business.

    48. 148

Re: jellotime91 – U can kiss my romanian ass hole sucker!!!and any1 who thinks that romanians are the same with gypsies or that romanians are garbage!!the only thing romanians have in common with gypries is the fact that we are all humans!!and WHEN THE GYPSIES WILL STOP STEALING AND DOING ALL THOSE BAD THINGS THAT THEY DO BELIVE THEY'LL NOT BE DISCRIMINATED ANYMORE!!NOT ALL THE GYPSIES ARE THE SAME!!SOME OF THEM HAVE A BIGGER HEART THAN U MAY THINK..BUT THE BIG MAJORITY OF GYPSIES ARE MAKING THEIR NAME TO BE A SHAME FOR THE POPULATION!! if we still lived in the past when gypsies were those ppl that had good music and dance and that knew how to party and live their life with no stealing and cheating then thsi world would have been perfect!! SO FUCK OFF those who have no freaking ideea how a gypsie really is!!because belive me u don't wanna know!!! peace out!!and stop talking about romanians like that bcuz u have no fucking ideea what u are saying!! and the booes madonna received are not fair!!but still the booes weren't for her..were for what she said!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME PEREZ?? You've been to Europe. Gypsie's are thieves that prey on hard working members of society and STEAL from them. Living a free-spirited lifestyle is one thing. Stealing is breaking the law. Madge is condoning anarchy! Boo, hiss!!!!

    52. 152

i've been to europe quite a bit. sadly, roma people have a terrible track record of not wanting to help themselves. in general… they reject education, they reject entering the work force. they have deep embeded "traditions" and they stick to them. i hate the plight of the young girls and boys, that often get deprived opportunities that their own prevent them from taking.

    53. 153

      hey, Perez,

I am a Romanian living in Canada. I left my dear country because of two big reasons: the communism and the gipsies.
Before you start making comments on "oh, poor gipsies, how discriminated they are", have you asked yourself just a simple question-very simple question?

That question is: Why Romania is the country with the higest number of gipsies -500,000 maybe 1,000,000 (unofficially)?
It is because NOBODY DISCRIMINATED THEM THERE.
Along the years (and we are talking hundreds of years until our times) the gipsies found the best places to settle on Romanian lands.
Romanians are friendly, hard working and free spirited. So they kept minding their own businesses when gipsies kept stealing from them, begging, cheating, devastating their properties and killing innocent people.
On short, during the communism era, houses were built for gipsies but they chose to stay in tents that they set up beside their houses and of course continue their habits.
They did exacly what they wanted and we Romanians did not interfere with their lives neither punish them. Our schools and universities were open to them (my desk colleague in grade 4 was a gipsy boy.)

    54. 154

      hey Perez, not so fast!
I am continuing my message to you:
For gipsies, the law did not and does not exist. They have no moral values whatsoever.
Their crimes and atrocities horrified our population. We were and still are traumatized.
They are a plague. And this plague started to spread to the rest of Europe.
At the prezent it's not that part of Europe that is traumatised because of their attrocities, it's the WHOLE EUROPE (and perhaps you know how liberals are Europeans regarding discrimination and etc etc etc. So you can imagine how serious this is).

On the other hand, we, Romanians woke up: how long are we going to tolerate all this?

Gipsies are totally different, Perez. Their thinking, their mentality, their values are different of what you are used to know. You have to either live in their neighbourhood, or among them, or study about them to finally understand what kind of people they are.
So, to keep it short, kiss your land and thank God that gipsies have not crossed the Ocean….yet.
Homework: read unbiased sources of information. There are plenty. You only ned the willingness to do so.

      Antony,
get your toys and go play

    57. 157

      what are you talking about?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    58. 158

I think that we should not tar one nation with the same brush, it is definitely reminiscent of Nazi policies. Romany gipsies are a difficult subject. One of my parents is English and one from former Yugoslavia. I would go to Yugoslavia for my school holidays and the Roma gypsies scared the bejesus out of me. It is true that a lot of them cut off their kids' limbs so that they would be more sucessful begging I I have, and still do see a lot of limbless Roma kids).

They are also very agressive in town centres and follow people around if they are not given money. They also throw curses left, right and centre, and whilst I am not superstitious, it can be very disconcerting. These days, I am sometimes involved in promoting Yugo music nights in London (catering to the ex Yugo immigrant community). The Roma performers are very popular and successful, their music heritage is absolutely amazing and a lot of them are enormously talented musicians. However, I would not dare cross them or say anyhting negative to them, as I've witnessed people being violently attacked if they do so. They are a contradictory nation, their culture can be full of beauty and charm, however, my experience always warns me to never, ever get involved with them more than superficially. That's as far as my own interaction with Roma goes, I have never been to Romania, so cannot comment one way or another.

Re: lulujay – I totally agree. Perez, I am Romanian and I was at the concert. Unfortunately, everybody is afraid of gypsies because of their behavior. 99% of them are involved in female prostitution, human traffic, car stealing etc. They pretend to be poor on the streets, but they live in gold palaces and drive luxurious cars. Sorry, but this is the world and nobody should tell me to behave nicely with the ones that steal from my pocket.

Re: Narca – And let's not forget that the France Authorities were so sick and tired of gypsies' behavior that they gave them money to leave the country and come back to Romania.

It was arrogant for Madonna to go to a foreign country and tell people how they should feel. I'm glad they booed her.
I saw photos from the concert at MSN.com and she was crouched on the stage at one point with her legs spread wide open so everyone in the front row had to look at her crotch. They should have booed her for that too.

Oh and Perez, I hope a gypsy steals your purse the next time you go to Europe and see how much you agree with Crazy, old Madge then.

    64. 164

It is so funny how mostly everybody on here is saying MADONNA WE DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR POLITICAL VIEWS, ETC ETC ETC. Well here is a bit of reality for you, YOU OBVIOUSLY DO CARE about her political views otherwise you wouldn't have wasted your time responding to this article. ,

Hey. I'm a huge fan of Madonna, but I'm wondering if she'll say the same thing about the Palestinians when she'll be in Israel for the last two shows of her tour. Speak your mind honey! Thats the way we like you!

    66. 166

I'm from eastern europe and the whole prejudice against gypsies isnt for no reason at all. They dont have normal jobs, they resort to stealing and other various crimes. This one man had his hands cut off because he got into a fight with a gypsy 3 months before. In Romania it is especially difficult because their gypsies go to Italy and are constantly raping murdering and stealing. The Italian media says "Romanians" commited these crimes. Now if u even have a romanian accent ur gonna get a beating in italy.

    67. 167

Re: jesyrene – How much time do you spend online obsessing about Madonna? Good God!!! And everyone in here making such broad stereotype generalizations, Jesus. Surely there are Gypsies that don't deserve to be painted with some broad stereotype brush, I'm sure that was Madonna's point.

    68. 168

They also booed when she spoke out against discrimination against gays, so I'd say nobody should give a shit about whether a Romanian is booing or not. Obviously, Romanians feel it's okay to discriminate against everybody, except for straight Romanians. So — FUCK THEM!!!

    69. 169

Re: bunsen b – yeah… we also discriminate against idiots like u…

Re: bunsen b – if u had any brain, u'd understand what #157 said better than any1 here…

I'm the kind of person that doesn't know how to hate. I'm Romanian and I went to the concert and i could hardly help myself from not booing. It's really sweet from Madonna to say that and to care, but you have to see it, to feel it , to realize. In Romania, gypsies are like everywhere, they're stealing, threading, fighting, raping, killing, terrorizing and growing fear into a country ! And THAT's unacceptable for the XXI century. Not long ago I would say to everyone that said something bad about them that they didn't receive any education, that's their way of being, parent's don't let kids attend schools, and convert them into thieves at home, as their parents did to them … and I admit i had lots of pity on them. Until it happened to me…and it all vanished. Like MANY…too many romanian people, I was threatened with death by gypsies (that firstly wanted to rob me), because I called the police to report them, being really scared. It was a nightmare from beginning to end. I've changed my mind about them in a radical way and it's so hard not to discriminate.I try my best, but they keep acting their way. And each and every person from Romania feels me now. So yeah, the booing thing was the most normal thing to do in a country where gypsies do their worse everyday, and no one can do nothing about it.

    72. 172

ONCE AGAIN, THE CRYPT KEEPER GETS IT WRONG.

PERHAPS THEY BOOED BECAUSE HER CONCERT SUCKED….

    73. 173

NOw if we could just send the somalis back. THese trash go on welfare,
steal and lie, then complain to the govt that they are being discriminated.

    74. 174

And now all the roma are trying to get into canada for a free ride, claiming
refugee status, and then they just go on welfare and deal drugs here in canada

    75. 175

i don't know what to say about this ….i guess madonna did chose the right place to discuss this issue

    76. 176

Perez i disagree with your opinion. I am from Romania too and you don't know how they act
if you see how they act im pretty sure you would change your opinion so fast!!

    77. 177

I'm from Romania. just let me say that we are not racist. We just don't like people act like they act (steal, rape, beg).

I don't say that they are all like that. I know romanian gypsies with collage degree. But I also know stories with children being tortured just to be more likely to get more money when they beg (at 5,6,7 years old).

A lot of non governmental organizations are here to help them. Teach them not to have a dozen of children when they have nothing to eat. Teach them that school is what children should do. Teach them that little girls (12,13) should not have babies.

I like to think that gypsies are that bohemian nomands. But they are not. We are not racists and not prejudiced against gypsies. We just don't like being mugged, threatened, injured, abused, etc. I don't say that only gypsies do this, but they are the majority.

      So we are not racists!
