Kelly Osbourne Gets Clean And Now Comes Clean!
It's no secret that Kelly Osbourne went through a hellish battle with addiction, but how bad it really got has finally come to light.
Kelly has recently opened up about her darkest days and they sure ain't pretty.
She admits that during the time her mother was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002, she began to experiment with drugs and alcohol, including strong pain killers. By the time her father, Ozzy Osbourne, had his near-fatal quad-bike accident in 2003, she was up to 50 Vicodin pills a day!
She says, "Most people would overdose on 10."
She gave rehab a chance several times, but each time proved a failure, which put Kelly in a more darker place than before. She spent time at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she was held on a psychiatric ward, per her parents request. But even that did not help.
When she returned home, things got even worse, as Kelly became a recluse and refused to leave her home or take care of herself.
She says:
"I wasn't prepared for the speed of my downward spiral. Within a month I wasn't showering or brushing my teeth and my only relationship was with the pizza delivery man. The fact I didn't die is a miracle."
Happily, Kelly has found a way to pull through, as she claims to have kicked the addiction to pills since her last stint in rehab back in January. But she is still wary about the future:
"If I think about relapsing again, I want to cry. I'm realistic. For the first time, I've learned my biggest lesson: there's strong chance I will relapse. But because I recognise that, I feel like I've got the strength to fight it."

Excuse me for sounding dumb - can someone explain to me how you get your hand on so many vicodin? Don't you need a doctor's prescription? I know there will probably be a lot of wise ass answers to my question but I can take it. Whoever is prescribing these medications should be held accountable.
Re: Bugface – Prescription drugs are the # 1 drug problem in this country for a reason. More people use "medications" for non-medicating purposes than any illegal substance. I've had a doctor prescribe me 20 pills of Vicodin one time because he accidentally hit a nerve in my lower back when he gave me a shot. Yes it hurts, for about 10 seconds, but shit happens. I told him I wouldn't need the prescription but he gave it to me anyway, "just in case". THAT'S how easy it is to get Vicodin. And come on, she lives in Hollywood…

well, i used to find her annoying, like im sure most people did.. (or do) but the thing with kelly is she knows shes annoying & different.. lol.. and thats just who she is. she knows shes not the hottest blonde on the block, shes not the most gorgeous girl or the smartest or the whatever. nowadays i like how she has grown up a lil and can admit things. very honest.
Been there done that. Totally know where she has been. Addiction is so powerful. Also, its a genetic disease. Obviously inherited from her father and probably a lot of ancestory. And folks if you have never been an addict to anything you just won't ever get it. Us folks when we do relapse wonder ourselves, my God, how did I get to this place another F-ing time. I wish her the very best. Take one day at a time. Thats all an addict can ever do to survive.

I just don't get it. Here's a girl rich beyond belief living with a father that is a walking billboard why people shouldn't do drugs. Yet she has the audacity to start taking them and for what? Fun? She's very lucky to have a functioning liver left. There are 500 mgs. of Tylenol in each vicodan. That dose is extremely hepatatoxic. I've seen people die in our ICU from much lower doses, and once your liver is dead, you either go on the transplant list or you die. The Tylenol will kill you faster than the hydrocodone in the vicodan.

Ya, non-addicts MIGHT OD on 10 Vicodins the ES, but for an addict 30-50 a day is normal. I lived with an addict or vikes & any opiate he could get his hands on. It probably stopped at 50 a day because they pass out…
