"Surrounded by the Catskill Mountains in the town made famous for peace and music, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary provides shelter to cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, sheep, and goats who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

We are a place where visitors can come face to face with these animals who most only know as “dinner” and learn about the devastating effects of modern-day agribusiness on the animals, the environment and human health. Here you can frolic with goats in a large open pasture, sit down with a pig who wants nothing more than a belly rub, cuddle with chickens who seek out your attention or get nuzzled by some very friendly sheep!

At the heart of our mission is the hands-on work of rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for farm animal refugees — as well as educating the public about the horrific treatment of animals who are raised in large, industrial factory farm systems."

This place is in Woodstock NY….Not Bethel NY. NO WHERE NEAR THE REAL WOODSTOCK SITE! I was all excited to go here because my parents live minutes away from Bethel….I don't feel like driving 2 hours to get to this place. It's nice what they are doing though!

Woodstock NY was where the festival was supposed to be held.
    Bethel was a backup.

Woodstock is the real Woodstock. It's a one of a kind place. Bethel NY is just a location - Woodstock NY is the attitude.
The farm animal sanctuary does a great thing and I encourage everyone to donate

Farm animals are treated so badly and this needs to STOP! There are so many delicious alternatives to eating meat, and meat by the way is very bad for the body and digestion. You can find great recipies at www.peta.com and check your local grocery stores too. Since I stopped eating meat, I lost weight, I feel healthier, more energetic, happier, and happier in a sense that I am not a part of the cruelty and disgusting torture that goes on behind the scenes. It's horrific!

THESE POOR ANIMALS GET ABUSED EVERYDAY AND PEOPLE HAVE NERVE TO SAY "OH NO THEY KILL THEM HUMANELY" WHAT THE FUCK IS HUMANE KILLING!?!?! THAT'S LIKE ME SLITTING YOUR THROAT OR SHOOTING YOU IN THE TEMPLE..I GUESS IT'S ALL GOOD CAUSE IT'S "HUMANE". IT'S JUST SO SAD HOW PEOPLE TURN A BLIND EYE TO HOW LIVING..I REPEAT…LIVING..FEELING..CREATURES GET TORTURED AND LIVED PAINFUL LIVES AND ARE ONLY LOOKED AT AS FOOD AND PROFIT. IT MAKES ME SICK TO MY STOMACH.

Thank you for this. That sounds like so much fun, I would love to go there. People really need to be educated more on slaughterhouses and the torture of animals. Here's hoping we can put a stop to it soon..
