Thank Goodness! 'Very Psychotic' Madonna Stalker Has Been Captured!!!
What a relief!
To recap - early this morning, we heard the terrifying news that 54-year-old Robert Dewey Hoskins, a man who was convicted of stalking and threatening Madonna, had escaped from a mental hospital in Norwalk, CA.
The LAPD were describing the man as follows:
"…A very psychotic man when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies."
Now, we're VERY happy to report that the Los Angeles Police Department have captured Madonna's very dangerous stalker!
The LAPD announced that Hoskins was found around 9 a.m. this morning "not far from the mental facility from which he escaped."
He's currently in police custody and he's being escorted back to the hospital.
We're just glad that nobody was hurt while this man was on the loose. We're ESPECIALLY glad that he wasn't able to get close to Madonna.
Great job, LAPD! We're very pleased and impressed!

This is so sad. What a test - to be sober for several years and survive a deadly plane crash with major burns and injuries that require surgery and of course pain medication… the use of pain meds and maybe 'managing' them without abusing them maybe made him think he was in control… or atleast let his addiction trick him into thinking that. RIP - and hopefully people can learn from this. Addiction is a disease and it can kill even those who understand it best.

it looks like more and more crack is becoming a drug of choice for hollywood. I have never done drugs but I had a friend that took a hit of crack for the first time in front of me and he said it was like no other drug he had ever taken, he was hooked instantly.

Who even said it was a "second chance"??? Just because he didn't die in the plane crash..Instead he had to live with being a survivor. Sounds crazy, but it must have been torture. i tried to leave this post on panachereport.com but they take forever to post…….. DJ AM Brought two genres of music and made it sound good from the old to the new he endeared much from what I read in the paper, but his love of music and the mixs he brought for me will live on.

It does not matter what YOU would have done or thought to do, as it had nothing to do with YOU. Addiction is a life long diagnosis and we will never fully understand how much pain he was in from his burns not to mention the Post Traumatic Stress issues he must have has as a survivor, again WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND, so do not assume you know anything about his life. I just don't understand why anyone would use drugs. I can understand partying to wind down, but excessive drug use is dangerous. We have lost so many talented people to drugs. Stick to the soft stuff, people. And if you have a problem, get help.

Kinda makes what Shanna Moaklar said about Travis Barker sound harsh. Unless you almost DIE in a plane crash that kills your friends you shouldn't judge how someone goes on with their lives. Ever heard of PTSD? Many people have survivors guilt and the pressure to "do something great with the second chance you've been given" is unbearable and keep in mind he suffered severe burns, that never goes away. Not the nerve damage, the pain or the psychological trauma. Fuck you Shanna and all the haters. Live his noghtmare then judge!

Clearly 95% of the people commenting don't even KNOW what real pain is. I've had over 25 surgeries in the past 2 years. I've lost 3 toes and I am on my way to losing my leg. I live in constant pain EVERYDAY and require shots of diluadid every morning otherwise I can't even cut myself out of bed into my wheelchair to have a somewhat "normal" day. People NEED pain medicine to survive. It's not our fault that pain medicine happens to be something that tricks your mind and body. I feel for him and understand what happened to him. REST IN PEACE. You are now not in ANY kind of pain my friend. I can't wait for the day when I am resting as peacefully and pain free as you are.

THIS is WHY you reach out to as many people as you CAN and GET HELP!!! He had plenty of money to get the finest help available. There IS a choice, whether he had a problem with pain pills or crack - you either get off them, or you don't. You either reach out to SOMEONE, get some HELP, or you don't. I know this from PLENTY of experience. I wish he was sitting in the best rehab clinic ANYWHERE than dead from drugs. I hope this makes everyone reflect on their own drug use. I really, truly do.

Sounds like you don't, because you respect the drugs for what they are to you in your life. I'm going to take a shot here and guess he didn't - I mean, what, with the crack pipe and all… and I'm very sorry to hear you have to have Dilaudid just to deal with your pain everyday. There are LOTS of people like you. People also need to know that, so thanks for posting.
Know idea who he was (apart from the facts that he dated Nicole Richie and was in that plane crash) but what has really struck me is the number of positive comments about him.
I might be biased, as I'm terrified of flying as it is, but I would not have swapped my life for him in a second. I'm not sure how much of his "celebrity" lifestyle would have contributed to this as I can't imagine anyone going through such an awful experience and only remain the same person on the inside. If no one had died on that day then maybe this might not have happened, maybe the "survival guilt" might have been less severe. Who knows? It must have been an incredibly traumatizing experience.
I do hope this raises the importance of some issues though including PTSD and drug addiction (particularly prescription pain relief.) Didn't know him but will say RIP DJ AM.
(Ps. I'm aware that many of my comments are conjecture but how many other people on this board personally know him? Some points are also entirely moot if it tuns out that he didn't die of an OD but it's looking like that.)

It would without a doubt make sense if he was smoking nuggs to help him with his pain. We'll never know the truth because the media jumped all over it when they heard there was a "pipe" at the scene. I'm guessing enough facts have not yet been revealed to say if it is a crack pipe. Either way, nobody is perfect. Everyone has vices and addictions whether they realize it or not. It's unfortunate that some people become addicted to drugs. I don't think enough people realize though that once the drug gets a hold of you it's VERY hard to let it go, very hard. I fear daily that I will have a problem with addiction but at the same time I cannot worry about that when I NEED the pain medicine in order just to feel normalcy.
I am totally speculating on this but I'm guessing that MAYBE the plane crash made him feel a little more invincible then he was? After something like that people go to either end of the "how they look at life" spectrum. Nobody knows for sure though. Nobody posting on this was a personal friend of his even though plenty of people know someone personally who has the same struggles as him.

this poor man has had to overcome so much in his short life…the stress from all of that took over him…For people to judge him and say "why do drugs again…" blah blah…he is physically and emotionally in pain 24/7. He is so messed up and i feel terrible for me. Don't you guys remember that he was severely overweight as well? Hopefully he can finally rest in peace and be able to be free from all of his traumatic problems. RIP.

Having a known someone who survived a plane crash and heavy burns, according to him, the pain never goes away. Even with pain medication (which is highly addictive) the pain still persists. Rest in Peace, dear DJ AM.

Beautiful…this is so sad. Just a week ago I saw him at the Mets game here in New York, and he's DJ'd my parties.
I never knew him personally *and I'm sure many people on this comment area didn't either* However I did listen to his mixes he made with Travis Barker in their project TRVS-DJAM and I can tell you I was blown away by his ability to mix the old and new music and make it something you had never heard or experienced before. I do think he was incredibly talented but as with most people who have such amazing talent there is always a dark side. Unfortunaty he had a lot of addictions he dealt with in his life and one of those addictions took that second chance that was given to him. I agree with a lot of people who have posted saying that the trauma he suffered from the plane crash most likely had a lot to do with the depression he dealt with afterwards and his subsequent overdose. Not just the trauma but him having to be on painkillers to deal with the constant pain of being burned all over. I do think if many of you people don't know who he is or think he's just some unimportant nobody that you should go look him up and find the music he helped bring back to life. Then you will see what a talented soul he was. R.I.P. DJ AM
