12,937 people in Mexico City on Saturday made the attempt to break the world record for the largest number of people dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller at once!

We love it!!!!

The Guinness Book of World Records will decide sometime next week whether or not the Mexicans broke the previous record set by 242 students from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA last May.

      Big problem here people. Guinness World Records requires that any Thriller Record Attempts use the American version of Thriller that is five minutes and fifty eight seconds long. The Mexico attempt did not use that version. Their version was a cut from the music video. That ALONE disqualifies them as the original record of 242 people and ALL other attempts used the correct version of the song. I'm not saying it's not cool, and that it wasn't a great event. BUT it does not qualify for Guinness.

      There were more than 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE in the Monumento a la Revolución, not everybody danced of course, but you can be sure that 13,957 registered people did dance Thriller (or tried to).
      The others were just looking.
