Chanel, the Guinness World Record holder for oldest living dog, passed away on August 28. The wirehaired dachsund, who turned 21 years old on May 6th, wore sunglasses for cataracts, but was otherwise in great health for her age.
Adopted in 1988 by Karl and Denice Shaughnessy of Port Jefferson Station, New York, Chanel's long-term health was said to be attributed to treats from dog food company Dogswell.
"We were saddened to learn of Chanel's passing on Friday evening," says Marco Giannini, founder and CEO for Dogswell. "We were thankful to have had some part in making Chanel's life a little more comfortable and enjoyable…She will be missed."
Aww, rest in peace, bb.
P.S. We'll have to get Teddy Hilton some of those treats!

Seriously…nice promo play Dogswell. I own a pet supply/daycare and boarding place in LA…we ONLY carry the healthy treats and foods…and just take a look underneath that Dogswell packages…in tiny, itty-bitty letters…"made in China". China has no laws to filter the quality of products, which is why the products that killed dogs a few years ago were made there. Just sayin'….Dogswell got on this dog's bandwagon, and people should just be aware. And if it doesn't matter…then go buy the stuff. But PLEASE DON'T BUY ANY FOR TEDDY!!! Just sayin'

awww poor baby I had a lil dachound for 17 years until she passed due to kidney failure. It took me a year to get over her death and I adopted another dachound a lil boy this time and I love him. I just love the breed they make great companions and cuddlers!

BTW, my dogs love dogswell jerky treats. Cage Free natural chicken! You can't get that here in the US! We are the hub of mass production and artificial crap! Not for my babies.

Jeez pervez, I just read that the owner told how the dog ate a whole bag of chocolate candy (toxic), plus was addicted to Reese's Pieces. Nothing mentioned about this guy trying to make a buck off of some poor dog's death! There are drops approved for canines that actually clear up cataracts. They worked on my friend's 13 year old Shar Pei.
