Madonna Back in the Movie Biz
Once her tour is over, Madonna is said to be stepping back behind the camera!
But, the good news is that she won't be acting!
Madge has lined up a killer movie project, directing a musical based on the life of American socialite Wallis Simpson. The musical will follow Wallis' love affair with English King Edward III and sources say Madonna is looking for Cate Blanchett to play the title role and David Tennant to play Edward.
An insider reveals:
"The final script is now written and the locations have been scouted. Madonna is now trying to assemble the cast and put the finances in place. The first scene is an old woman in her nineties living on her own in a Parisian flat (apartment), she starts to tell her life story to a housekeeper and it turns out the woman is Wallis Simpson. There will be a song for every decade of her life."
We do love us some musicals!
And Madonna did quite well with Evita!
We shall remain cautiously optimistic.

I admit she wasn't terrible in all of her movies. I did enjoy Dick Tracy and League of their own.
Musical is definately a safe bet for her.
Madonna is a great actress when she's not speaking (EVITA, which was basically a 2 hour Madonna video), or she has a supporting or minimal role (A League of their Own, Dick Tracy, Desperately Seeking Susan). As far as directing, I doubt she can pull off a Streisand, but we'll see.
SHe does everything good for her.
