The L Word Turns To Reality

The L Word is back!
But this time around, it'll be reality!
Showtime has decided to go ahead with casting The Real L Word: Los Angeles, which will track the daily lives of six Los Angeles based lesbians.
Could be interesting!
The original L Word was a hit for the network, running for six season before the series ended earlier this year.
"Even though we concluded our sixth season of The L Word on Showtime this past March, I believe we are not nearly finished telling our L Word stories," says series creator Ilene Chaiken.
The Real L Word co-producer Jane Lipsitz of reality production giants, Magical Elves, believes the show will touch on an area that "has yet to be explored in reality television"
Thoughts????

…there go the wages for actors.
Yay
do you know when its set to air?
i agree. there hasnt been a show discussing gay relationships and all the drama like the L word did. It would be interesting and a step forward for the community and society. Awesome!
Oh, I really hope that the "cast" is going tp contribute to giving the american viewer a balanced view of the gay community, and not just of rality-show-wanabees (that often look stupid and shallow).
*
Hmm….
*
….is this, like, a family photograph of the 2nd generation Addams Family?
*
I'm bettin' this has something to do with some wheezin' old cable/dish/satellite program.
*
Yawwwwwwwwwwn.
*
.
Boorrrrring. They don't care about the stories. They care that HBO is kicking their ass with True Blood and think that lesbians can beat vampires. Not gonna happen.
YAY Lesbians! BOO reality TV!
yeah…
Trash…
lesbians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Thoughts?????"
Hell, I "thought" you would be praising this since it's affiliated with homosexuals. Not hatin' but everyone knows P is bias.
And oh yeah, i'll tune in.
SSSSSOOOO PUMPED!!!! air date?
damn i almost thought the l word is coming back!! that would´ve been great!!
but probably i´ll tune in
awesome
Finally! LGBT Reality TV! air date?
Wish I could have seen the original series.
im afraid if i state my opion i will be considered a homophobe so nvm
this might be interesting…….is all im gonna say
umm LOGO already did this…it's called Gimmie Suger and it's in it's second season (now in Miami)
Just as long as they get hot lipstick lesbians, no one interested in watch two bulls go at it.
bring on the lesbians
Re: thefamousphere.com –
Give me this programme over juvenile fantasy programmes like "True Blood"! The L Word was MASSIVE, I don't think even Showtime realised how successful it was because a lot of people in countries outside America couldn't watch it and had to rely on the internet to watch it instead!
I think it will be a really interesting thing to see, I just hope they have a mixture of lesbians, not just butch!
There better be an L Word movie too, i'm counting on it!
Not watching because I'm still pissed about the ending of The L Word!
Thoughts? Yeah– I'd rather see the REAL L Word back on the air!! How could they just leave us hanging like that?!?
i'm just sad this is on showtime!
i don't have digital cable =(
Never heard of it!
This is so great ! I love the L word ! My fave show ever !
yaaaaaaaaaaay i fukin luv dis show. dee air date plsz!!!
What's Gimme Sugar? That's a show about gay women.
My problem is that why don't they show gay/straight people who have average lives trying to make ends meet and not kill each other in the process…where are those people? You know, the ones we can relate to?
hmm…season 6 sucked majorly. Chaiken either needs to back away and not ruin the L word further or try really really hard to make sure this new show doesn't stink to high heaven.
As much as I hate reality television, I hated the L Word even more. I'm willing to bet this reality show will be far better. That show was seriously the worse written crap on television. I wanted to like it but boy did they mess it up. What a train wreck! Thank heavens for Jennifer Beals, the only thing that got me through watching it.
oh im so watching this!!!
I'll be beside myself if they cast Katherine Moennig.
Lesbians Rock!!!!!!!!!!!!
AWESOME! I'll watch this.
I hated myself for watching the L Word because I really hated Jenny with a passion. They tricked me that last season by saying she was dead so I started to watch it again, then I had to deal with her all season.
Ooops, what is this post about?
Being a lezzie myself I should watch it but I won't pay to watch it. Showtime probably lost 99% of their viewers when they canceled The L Word. They turned down The Farm w/ Leisha Hailey. Showtime probably thinks the only way they can win back all the lost viewers is to throw together another lezzie show like this one. I don't think people will watch it unless they have hot lesbians and really I'm beginning to doubt there is such a thing as a hot lesbian (with the exception of moi) cuz the ones I meet are all butch and look like truck drivers (and usually are). It's tough out here for a femme lez!!!
Re: mars in velvet –
Kate Moennig stars in Three Rivers on CBS this fall so she won't be on it.
Disgusting on so many levels.
uhm can we have this for Queer as Folk? better yet…. can we have a Queer as Folk Movie? YES. kay get on that please, producers of QAF.
JACKIE WARNER IS A MUST………………… SHE'S HOT!
This sounds awesome. I think that people do need to see what it is to live as a lesbian, and see that we are as normal as what we come, HUMAN BEINGS. We have all kind of reallity shows, this one will be more interesting and definitely different than the rest airing now.
IGNORANT!
i love the L word, that's all i gotta saaay
Of course all the lezzies are beautiful.
I think its awesome! Can't wait! I hope Mia Kirshner makes an appearance…haha…love her..and comeon…she's Bi in real life right?
I'm so fucking excited. So…so…SOOOO fucking excited!!
I hope they at least have a couple of supa-fine dykes.
Finally!! Seems like you Perezzito don't like writting about the L word..!
I loveeeeeeeee The L word! It's just soo awesome!
.. pleaseee bring Kate Moenning back!
Love.
Re: CuddlyCarla – If this is a picture of you…you R gorgeous!
I think that all who immediately diss this are not thinking this through.
They are taking a huge hit show that was revolutionary to the LGBT community, reworking it into reality, and casting real people.
Translation: Everyone who watched it before will tune in, plus many who enjoy reality! Not only does that double their viewers, but beyond that, it will raise awareness and acceptance.
FREAKING INGENIOUS.
I absolutely loved this series, if it was successful and did Showtime well why did it get canceled? And if they are most likely going to butcher it with this reality one why not just bring it back? I guess they did kill off one of the best cast members!
MISS THIS SHOW!!
I'm all for gay rights and stuff, but this show makes me gag.
I will definitely watch!
If they do this, they HAVE TO do a "Queer as Folk" version!! I love the idea, but it should show both lesbian & gay lives…
SOME OF THEM LOOK LIKE MEN! GROSS!!!
OMG this is great! I loved that show and was very sad to see it go!!! I will def watch this! It's the closest we are gonna get!
I think this is a dumb idea… the world doesn't need anymore "Reality" shows… we've been inundated with them for years. The reason(s) the L Word was SO successful had to do with (most) of the story writing and of course, the ACTORS who betrayed these characters who we'll never forget. I loved the L Word for Jennifer Beals
, Laurel Holloman, Leisha Hailey, Rachel Shelley, Mia Kirshner, Kate Moenning, Pam Grier, Rose Rollins… etc etc
The LAST thing I want to see is a bunch of WEHO chicks who THINK they're on the show.
"Gimmie Sugar" is annoying enough on Logo.
The actors and the stories made the L Word what it is… yes there is a void for gay/lesbian content, but reality isn't the answer.
Hey SHOWTIME… you should've never canceled the L Word since it was such a success for your network!!! How bout giving the fans what they want and continuining the stories we loved with a movie… or 2?!
F Reality!
