We think she actually sounds pretty good! However, not that many people know your NEW song yet, sweetie. You shouldn't exactly be expecting them to sing along so much!

      Tragic! The crack obviously scorched her vocal chords beyond repair.

      She is barely singing (like Diana Ross used to do the same thing by pointing the microphone towards the audience and announce "everyone sing"….because I can't) and yes, the voice is struggling.

      HORRID!! And she barely sang, it was mostly her "backup" singers and then she would throw the occasional "uhoh uhoh" oh that there. Also what did the host mean "THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BE WAITING FOR" yea right asshole!

      LOVE HER! True, her voice is deeper and rougher than it used to be, but she lived through the disaster that is BOBBY BROWN! Good for her! AND THE SONG IS AWESOME! MY MAN MAKES ME FEEL LIKE A MILLION DOLLAR BILL!!!!

      The performance wasn't great but not bad either. The album on the other hand is AWSOME! Not a bad song on the CD. She still sounds better on CD than anybody else out there other than maybe Celine!

      Re: Achmat – I agree. Even Aretha Franklin's voice has lost some power over time. People just don't appreciate talent anymore. Artists like MJ, Whitney, etc had to possess some talent to make it. You had to earn your fame. Now it's all image and autotune. Even Madonna (although she's no where in the same league) sang live and continues to do so. I don't want to spend my cash to see someone lipsynch to their CD.

      You thought she sounded "pretty good"???? Then you must have smoked as much crack as Whitney. The entire performance was TAPED yesterday afternoon as Diva girl couldn't sing live at 7 am. She was shot from long distances to cover the fact that she was lip synching. And when she did "vamp" out loud, she was out of breath and had no range whatsoever. Hell, the audience hit more high notes than Whitney did. Even sadder was dragging her daughter on stage to join in who did not inherit ANY level of singing ability from her druggie parents.

      Mariah can no longer sing either, did u hear her at the Michael Jackson tribute? She and Trey Lorenz used to tear that song up but she can no longer hit the high notes either! I applaud Whitney for coming back. Her voice will never be what it used to be but she does still have a voice. Aretha Franklin doesn't sound as good as she did in her youth either but she can still sing. As you get older your voice changes. Whitney will always be the ultimate!!!

      So is this the way it's going to be? Getting the audience and back-up singers to sing your songs for you while you talk your way through and sing one note at a time. But in this case the audience doesn't even know your new songs yet.

      I was disappointed. The background singers sang more than she did. And the comment on Diana Ross! I have seen Ms. Ross in concert many times (and this year) and the other so called Divas cannot hold a candle to her in concert. She is much, much better in concert then you see her on television. She is the Mother of All Divas! Diana may not have a powerful voice but she has emotion in her voice and does not have to scream at the top of her lungs to sing like so many of the other Divas do. And not to mention she is 65! Whitney had a lot of energy but it was kind of sad performance. You know they can fix anything in the studio — it is the live concert that shows the true entertainer. And again Ms. Diana Ross sounds just like her cd's in concert.

      Eartha Kitt sang until weeks before her death at 81, with a voice as strong as ever!
      Sad, sad, sad… that Whitney's once magnificent voice has been irreparably smoked away,
      and can now only be mended by digital wizards in a recording studio.
