Finally, some good news for Whitney Houston.
Houston's first album in seven years, I Look To You. which was released this past Monday, is expected to sell over 200,000 copies in its first week of release in America!
Those figures would easily put her in the number one spot on the Billboard 200.
The figures for Whit are based on the two-day sales report which are said to be doing well.
She'll also most likely beat out tween icon Miley Cyrus' The Time Of Our Lives release, which came out on the number three spot with 62,000 copies sold its first week.
So, could this finally be Whitney's comeback?

She was awful. Her music is indicative of a celebrity that in touch only with their ego, and not the current sounds in the music industry.

HITS has actually updated their estimates to be 250,000-275,000 sold! The album is great!!! Million Dollar Bill is not the highlight of the CD but I like it because it is different than anything else out right now. My favorites on the album are "Call You Tonight" and "For The Lovers"!! She still sounds good on CD.

Miley's CD is exclusive to Walmart which is a bummer, cause they even blew it there realising it 3 days earlier without promotion of it…which means less sales. it came out on the 28th and it was scheduled for the 31st. dumb walmart

her GMA performance was god-awful. shame on clive davis for pushing her into this 'comeback' when she is so obviously in no condition to successfully pull it off. you can play tricks in the studio, but live she sounds like a braying crackwhore. it's sad.

I liked what I heard of the album. I think her voice is still beautiful even if it's only at about 75% of what it was. The roughness gives it a texture which is more interesting than perfection. She'll have to learn how to use this. The GMA performance wasn't all there.

She was fabulous back then and she's fabulous now. Still, I think she ought to give it up. There isn't enough room in the music industry for an ego as big as Whitney's.
She sounded just as awful as she did at that tragic grammy pre-show performance of 2008. The only difference is that this time around, she tried having backup singers cover her labored vocals (albeit unsuccessfully). Her voice has dropped almost half an octave and she's lost most of her top end.
I should have suspected this judging by her new album, on which she sounds shit even with the help of pitch correction and smoothing techniques. If I didn't know better, I'd guess that I was listening to an 80 year old diva of the past.
I'm very confident that Mariah is going to outsell her.

I didn't see it but I think if people can look past her "crack is whack" she could do just fine. She doesn't look high, she's just older and I think recent pictures she look fresh. At least she's trying and staying true to herself instead of arguing with old washed up rappers and trying to feed into a fad…cough cough.

I liked her perfromance on GMA! It was great seeing her again! As far as her being hoarse Ive heard her hoarse before many years ago. I think she is just really better on records than live (voice wise) but her performance was great! She is older now and that has to have something to do with her vocals being a bit hoarse. I have heard a lot of artists hoarse one that I never have heard hoarse is B Streisand/. Shes amazing as far as "great voices" go shes the one that Ive never heard falter..But Im happy Whitney is back..I like the new cd!
