Remember the teenage sluts girls from MTV's 16 & Pregnant? Well, they're coming back!

No, they're not pregnant again. Well, we hope they're not anyways!

According to Variety, MTV is planning a spinoff, titled Teen Mom, which will follow the lives of several of the once pregnant 16 year olds and their regrets of not using protection struggles of being a mother.

Broken dreams always makes for good television!

The network has ordered eight hourlong episodes, which are expected to air early next year.

What do U think of the idea?

Will U be watching??

      Slow news day Perez??

    2. 2

Disgusting. This should not be glamorized. The little skanks need to learn how to respect themselves instead of bringing children into the world they cannot support financially or emotionally. As a mom, teen parents make me sick.

    3. 3

Yeah, I watched 16 and Pregnant, so it would be interesting to see an update on the girls.

    4. 4

fuck that. we don't need any glitter blown on teens and babys…

    5. 5

bbc did that a few months ago with 'underage and pregnant', except 16 isnt underage so the people in this show probably wont face the same things as a 14 or 15 year old mother

    6. 6

MTV should just be called "Trailer Park TV" now whats with this shit…bow to the lowest common denominator….good by class

    7. 7

sometimes people can use all the protection in the world and still get preggo perez!!

    8. 8

Almost everyone of those girls was in a relationship I don't think there were sluts. Ya they didn't make an informed choice on Birth Control that's probably because they were well informed on them.

    9. 9

This show is absolute trash, where is the show that centers around the girls who decided to say have an abortion, and their lives are not completely messed up. Im only 23 years old but my god just a few years back if you were pregnant in high school you were trash plain and simple. I think its sad that MTV has a show coming out like this purely for ratings and to make money. I don't need to watch a show about some idiot who got pregnant at 16 and now their life is in utter chaos. My god, if I got pregnant now, they would not be following me around with cameras. Why dont the focus on having a show with people who can actually take care of a child instead of relying on mommy and daddy, oh wait because this is America and we LOVE watching peoples lives destroyed in front of our faces. I refuse to tune into this.

    10. 10

Great idea, scare others away from that path.

    11. 11

DID you watch that show at all? Look up Catelynn Lowell. I think it might open your mind. Shame on you Perez.

    12. 12

stupid and boring very very boring

    13. 13

Maybe…if it is done correctly (yeah right!) it could be a learning tool for how crippling it is to a teen to have a child and how it destroys teens just by making one wrong decision. My teen girls are NOT allowed to watch MTV much, if at all.

    14. 14

      How about "16 & Abortions"?

    15. 15

2 call them sluts "ouch" that hurts. I can see where some of them were in a committed relationship and got prego. The show doesnt really show the struggles so i can see where some would get offended

    16. 16

Re: gogirl1 – honestly. . . you guys make me sick. . . how about these kids did the responsible thing. . . how about congratulating them on making the right decision. . . not allllll teen moms are lowlives that can't support their children. Why don't you stop judging people because if you weren't hiding behind your computer I'm sure there are plenty things people could judge you about that you wouldn't be happy with.

    17. 17

I don't think teens accidentally get pregnant these days a lot of them plan it. Or by using no birth control the odds are against you. It should not be something glamorized. I think tem year olds are pretty well informed about BC

    18. 18

i fucking hated this show!!!!!!!!!! because of the breatsfeeding doll and stripper doll this is why 16 year olds get pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    19. 19

Enough with the dam reality shows… bring back sitcoms…

    20. 20

you're going to hell perez. its one thing to make fun of someone for the outfit they chose….

    21. 21

I think the people saying it glorifies teen mothers didn't watch any episode of 16 & pregnant! It definitely didn't glorify things! It showed the heart ache and struggles they went through. My Mom had me at 16, so this series interested me to see how their lives are different and similar to what my Mom went through. I think follow up shows will be good to show how hard it really is and maybe will help scare some girls into being sure to use protection!

    22. 22

I will definitely be watching, I love 16 and pregnanttttt. I know a lot of pregnant girls my age, it can really happen to anyoneeee

    23. 23

Are the GUYS who get these girls pregnant also SLUTS, Perez?

You are so misogynistic, it makes me want to throw up.

gogirl, "These little skanks" as you call them are not the only ones responsible. We'll see how you feel when one of your kids turns up in the same situation.

    24. 24

Good stuff…everyone loves watching train wrecks. I think that they need to show being a teenage mom in true form. Its hard work, the relationships never work out, and often the grandparents are left raising the kids. Girls need to see that its not a 'happily ever after' kind of thing.

    25. 25

haha! luv da way u edit the story mario

    26. buck says – reply to this

      26

Re: SugarBabeGurl – the girls are 14, 15 and 16 and getting laid…they're sluts.

    27. 27

bring back the MTV which all loved back in the 90's when it was full of MUSIC and proper stuff like jackass, now adays it's full of sht scripted-reality (oxymoron = conjoining contradictory terms, as reality cant be scripted but shows like the hills are scripted)
MTV used to piss all over every other network, now Sky3 has more interesting stuff

    28. 28

I am a single mother as well and although I was 21 when I had my son I wasn't then or am I now a skank. I don't think the show glamorizes being a young unwed mother. In fact my 16 year old goddaughter has watched the show and has decided to abstain from sex as she sees what can happen and how difficult it would be.

    29. 29

There's something seriously wrong with you Mario. Teen sluts? WTF is that? Kids make mistakes, horrible as they may be, but that doesn't make them sluts. You're a piece of shit and I can only hope that yet another one of your victims beat the shit out of you.

    30. 30

maybe jamie lynn spears or bristol palin can make a special guest appearence

    31. 31

      Re: OMG-ROFL – …agreed!

    32. 32

these girls were definitely trailer trash, you could tell their boyfriends just wanted to bolt but they had to stay cause MTV was documenting the pregnancy…they should do a show called 13 and pregnant and see how people react i'm sure there would be plenty of sluts to chose from

    33. 33

you're disgusting for calling them sluts!

    34. 34

Re: gogirl1 – If you've ever watched the show, it's not "galmorized" at all. I'm a teen myself and this scared me off of even considering having sex until I'm married! In fact, I'm not even sure I WANT kids now after seeing how painful child birth is! I'd rather just adopt. Most of the girls on that show had to get their own jobs, give up hanging with friends and being a normal teen to take on the responsibility of their actions. 16 and pregnant is probably one of the best shows MTV has ever made and the only one with educational value too! One of the girls even got kicked out of her own house. This show is anything BUT "glamorous"

    35. 35

what happened to MUSIC television. there is nothing on mtv that even interests me anymore….. except for when they play scrubs reruns

    36. 36

i would if i got MTV

    37. 37

mmmm I have never known a 16 year old that had a baby and wasn't either living w/ mom and dad or on government assistance and often it is both living w/ parents and on welfare

    38. 38

I agree i'd love to see a update on how they are doing. Even though they shouldn't promote teenage pregnancies on the show all the girls even said to not do it, so it should scare teenagers to not have kids.

    39. 39

I would watch. Getting pregnant at 16 doesnt make you a slut. It really just shows poor judgement. But many people move on with their lives, make the situation work for them and become stronger people. So I think it would be nice to see a update of how it really is.

    40. 40

Re: calliecakes – The show has a great moral. Why would you have a show about a loving family? That would make pregnancy look good - which it is if you're a married adult, but not if your a teenager. This show is real, it shows what will happen to you if you're a teen and get pregnant. In one of the episodes a girl even got kicked out of her house. How's that "relying on mommy and daddy" when they kicked your ass out and you're on your own paying for bills and food and clothes? This show won't make ten girls want to go out and have unprotected sex or anything, it will scare them off of it and make them think before they act!

    41. 41

I'm not watching. They don't even know how to take care of a baby. The Dad in one of the segments put his baby to sleep on the EDGE of his bed in the dark. WTF? As soon as I saw that, I wanted to kick his ass or at least get the baby taken away from them.

    42. 42

why doesn't someone do a show about "parents" that do nothing and then wonder why their child is pregnant……..

    43. 43

You bunch of fucking bitches need to grow the fuck up. Teenage moms aren't sluts. I'm a mother too, and not a teen, and they don't sicken me. In fact, I admire them. Yes, there are shitty teenage mothers… there are also shitty ADULT, married, financially secure mothers. But the ones who keep their baby and take RESPONSIBILITY for their child, instead of running away from something THEY created, are admireable. Nowadays most of them finish school and end up with great careers! Grow up. Open your minds. Teenagers HAVE sex… most USE protection… and yes, some get pregnant. It happens. No protection is 100%. And having sex with ONE PERSON doesn't make you a slut. Have you had sex with more than one person? Because most of the girls that you are calling sluts have had sex with less men than most of you, I'm sure.

    44. 44

For those you are saying it glamorizes teen pregnancy you have obviously not watched the show. It does the exact opposite. In fact after I saw a few episodes I thought it would be a good idea for teens to watch it. It would scare the hell out of them and make them think twice before having unprotected sex.

    45. 45

Re: Emma1786 – You said "Re: gogirl1 – honestly. . . you guys make me sick. . . how about these kids did the responsible thing. . . how about congratulating them on making the right decision. . . not allllll teen moms are lowlives that can't support their children. Why don't you stop judging people because if you weren't hiding behind your computer I'm sure there are plenty things people could judge you about that you wouldn't be happy with. "
      ___________________________________________________
And what was this "Right" decision that these girls made? To Not use birth control? To selfishly hang on to their kid even though they are broke and can't provide for it when there are thousands of childless couples that could give the child a much better home? Please, give it a rest.

    46. 46

So stupid. I caught a few minutes of one of the episodes once and it was awful. Who wants to watch a bunch of pregnant, white trash, 16 year olds and their boyfriend, siblings, ma, and memaw all living in the same house?

    47. 47

Yeah I am going to watch this show like to see how good life is for me because I know how NOT to get a girl pregnant!!! Its pretty damn easy!!!

    48. 48

i will watch this new show.

    49. 49

Re: buck – For one I'm pretty sure the girls were all at least 16 I am be wrong though. For too honestly how old were u when you lost it? either the same age or maybe not at all? Just because a teen has sex doesn't mean they are a slut, granted I wouldn't want my teen having sex but this day and age you have to prepare for it, and talk with them about birth control

    50. 50

Only one of the girls is actually on birth control now… ten bucks says one of them gets pregnant AGAIN DURING TEEN MOM.
      *
That being said the show was interesting, different social and economic climates and MTV seemed to have done their homework when casting…
      *
The couple that put their baby up for adoption were incredible, so strong and way beyond their years.

    51. 51

      hell yeah ima watch!!!

    52. 52

I loved the show…maybe because I'm pregnant right now. And I'd watch the new mom show because when it airs I'll be a new mom.

    53. 53

to call those girls "sluts" is rather sexist. plenty of young people are having sex. on the aftershow all of the girls said that they were NOT using birth control. i think that a lack of education about pregnancy prevention is to blame, not inaccurate social stigmas such as "sluttiness". also, is MTV glamorizing teenage pregnancy or teen motherhood or simply documenting it? i will say that the lives of these teenage mothers didnt look very glam to me.

    54. 54

      I love that show!

    55. 55

      Re: Emma1786
Honestly, I'm entitled to my own opinion. I've known numerous teen moms and have no respect for any of them. The "right" thing would be to have some respect for yourself and if you decide to have sex, be smart about it. No one is hiding behind their computer. Everyone who knows me is aware of my opinion.

    56. 56

Good idea. It would really show teens the consequences of unprotected sex and not remaining abstinent.

    57. 57

i think that show is just HORRIBLE how ccan they practicly encurage being prego at THAT age. wow

    58. 58

I disagree with a lot of comments about the show 'glamorizing' teen pregnancy. I watched the show, and think it showed the reality of teen pregnancy - difficult, life changing, and at times, heart breaking. I think these girls are strong, amazing young ladies who took responsibility for their actions, but showed other teen girls it is NOT the way to live your life! Following the girls on a daily basis will show the hardship, and just how difficult it is raising a child, when you are a child! I think the show will act as a lesson for teens - Don't have teen sex - without protection…there are consequences! Given the crap on 'The Hills', and other tv shows that glorify teen sex, and partying, isn't a show needed that shows the consequences/reality of your actions!!

    59. 59

I love how ppl can comment on how girls are trash if they were teenage mothers. I was a teenage mother and if I had to do it all over again I think I would. It made me grow up and kept me out of alot of trouble that most teens get into like drugs etc. I am a 22 year old who has a 7 year old son ..proud of it too. I finished school a year early so I could work full time to get out on my own and support myself and my child. I never got one thing from the government. I have a house I recently built this year a nice car and a great job as a nurse. I have been with my sons father for 9 years and its been hard but we have made it a long way! I was never a whore or a slut just not informed on how to properly use birth control. Face it..kids are having sex at a younger age. Now what sick is these women old enough to be grandmothers having babies!

    60. 60

Statistics show that 1 in every 5 teenage girls DREAMS of being a teenage mother. Not a doctor, lawyer, actress, singer…a MOTHER!

Glamorizing it is encouraging it…because seriously…who the hell do you think is paying for their "dream" to come true? You and I…the taxpayers.

    61. 61

      "sluts"
i didn't realize that you shit gold.

      moron.

    62. 62

This show would be very educational for young girls to see how much of a struggle it is for you to have a baby..althoug I dont think they really show how hard it really is.

    63. 63

      Probably…
      actually, most definately.
You learn by watching and doing:)

    64. 64

Re: buck – So the girls are sluts and the guys are innocent in this whole mess? Last time I checked it took a sperm and an egg to make a baby. Get me wrong, but unless these girls are reproducing asexually….the females are not the only ones "to blame".

And last time I checked…you can also get pregnant during your first time…so you dont know if these girls were sluts or not.

    65. 65

Im sure if you had a womb (a real one) you would have gotten preggers at 9 or 10, but wait..is there anyone who would actually sperminate you?

    66. 66

LOL! I loved that show, surprisingly, ofcourse ill be watching it!!

    67. 67

I know a girl who is gonna be on the next show.

    68. 68

Who the hell do you people think you are calling 16 year olds sluts and skanks? You should grab a dictionary and look up what it means. I've seen a few episodes and they've said that their boyfriends are the only ones they've slept with. Just because they're young and having sex does not mean they're in anyway a slut.

    69. 69

So I read some of your comments and found most of you are really not smart at all. For you to call those girls sluts and what not, is pretty stupid. Since I am SURE most of you were sleeping around at the age of 14 or 15 as well. I was almost 17 and I lost mine two years after all my friends did. I am not a teen mom I was 24 when I had my son but I watched two of my friends raise there kids and they were 16, you know what those kids are amazing and both their mom's are college graduates and make more then you people talking bad about those girls. People make mistakes do not judge until you have the right too. I do think this show and the new show is a good program but I think it needs to be on TLC instead of MTV…Bring back music videos!!!!! When did MTV start playing movies WTF?

    70. 70

Re: blslut666 – SnowAngel1224 said it perfectly when she said that no, they don'g glamorize things.. A girl got kicked out of her house, they show the actual child birth, couples split cuz the guy wants nothing to do with the baby, girls can't hangout and be a teenager with their friends, some miss Prom.. It's not glamorized at all, the goal is to show girls how much life would suck if you were a teen mom.. Not saying it sucks for everyone, some are lucky. Others can't afford it and dedicate their teenage lives to their kids.. It's sad and it sucks.. How can you say that that is glamorized?

    71. 71

Re: SugarBabeGurl – they were 14 when they were gettng plugged…definitely not the right thing to do. they are not equipt to handle there emotions, phyical changes or difficulties of there lives…then to throw a baby in the mix is ridiculous. the verdict is they are still sluts.

    73. 73

Re: lauraNessa – Wow, maybe all the Twilight obsessing has messed you up. The show does not in any way encourage pregnancy? Have you even seen the show? They suffer from bullying from their peers, parents lashing out, arguments so on so forth. If this makes you want to get pregnant, go see a therapist or something.

    74. 74

      really? glamorizing teen motherhood? pathetic.

Re: P-Rez Junkie – the guys are assholes too..every one of them that i saw on the showare looser that for the most part manipulated and took advantage of younger girls.

    76. 76

It may not be right but it shows other young girls what its really like to have a baby at a young age. Maybe the only way they'll know is by watchn this slow. If it educational for the younger generation then kudos to them. I wish i would've known how hard it was going to be.

    77. 77

Re: calliecakes – ……..WOW you are a angry person!!!! A baby is a blessing and is not a bad situation or a white trash situation! shame on you!…Yes it is unfortunate that they chose the wrong path due to their age! but they are human, a teenage human!!!! Do not persume to put your self on a high horse..I am pretty shure you have made more than one mistake in your life! and that does not make you or anyone else white trash!!…………

    78. 78

I think it's ignorant to call these girls sluts. Yes, they made some bad decisions, but this show may prevent other teens from making the same mistakes.

    79. 79

      Just some facts

One million teens in the USA will become pregnant over the next twelve months. Ninety-five percent of those pregnancies are unintended. About one third will end in abortion; one third will end in spontaneous miscarriage; and one third will continue their pregnancy to term and keep their baby.

More than half of them are 17 years old or younger when they have their first pregnancy.

Approximately 40 percent of young women become pregnant before they reach 20 years old.

The United States of America has double the adolescent pregnancy and birth rates of any other industrialized country.

The poorer the young woman, the more likely she will become a mother.

Less than one-third of teens who have babies before the age of 18 finish high school.

Almost half of all teen mothers end up on welfare.

Less than 25 percent of births to teens occur within wedlock.

These shows are ridiculous. It's all some kind of trash, white, black, all the same. They resemble nothing of my community. This kind of behavior needs to be shunned like in the "olden days" and not glorified like it is today. Uneducated and poor are no way to be.

    81. 81

      ugh

    82. 82

Re: SnowAngel1224 – That is absolute crap…a great moral? Im sorry but when I was 16 I was focused on a lot of others things then SEX, so they kicked their 16 year old out, lets do a follow up, lets see how many of these girls will be on government assistance, welfare, and any other bullshit that my TAX dollars pay for. My god these girls are so completely idiotic, I feel sorry for any teenager in high school. And this SHOW is not going to stop teenagers from having or not having sex. The families most of these girls came from were trash, absolute trash. I fully support having a protest against this new show and future episodes of 16&pregnant. Get a clue, how many woman actually make it in this world having a child at the age of 16. Ya there are always the "success" stories, and thats great, but most are not so happy. I just feel sorry for the innocent child born into a family that wont be able to support them. The only girl who was smart in that entire season was the one who gave it up for adoption, she knew she was trash and could not provide for the kid, and she did the RIGHT thing, gave it a home where parents wanted and could afford to provide it an amazing home. Lets do a follow up story on the children 15 years from now, and I bet you that kid turns out better then the rest.

    83. 83

Re: Fernando23 – I was referring to the girls on the show, I'm sorry but they did not appear to come from very "good" homes. I think this show is bullshit, so ya I's pissed. And I am not saying I am perfect, not once did I. Nor am I calling these girls sluts, but maybe instead of fucking they should have put their priorities elsewhere. I bet these girls are LOVING having the cameras follow them around, it most likely gives them the attention their families never provided them with as children.

Re: satansangel – calling them sluts may prevent other girls from being sluts too.

    85. 85

i will most definitly be watching! this show is one of the best forms of birth control out there. trust me, i won't be having sex any time soon.

    86. 86

you have to remember anything mtv does is phoney and staged for ratings so the show is nothing but fiction

    87. 87

I just hope they don't glamorize it at all.
I know several girls who just had babies at MUCH too young an age (and seem surprised now that it's "sooo haarrd" and that they're "always tired"), and just found out my 17-yr-old cousin is pregnant. She thinks it's sooo cooolll….shopping for baby clothes, toys, blah blah blah. It's not like having a cute doll to play with!!! I'm really disturbed by this attitude.
Hopefully this show will show the difficult side of things and the reality being a single teenage mom. It's not fun and games.

    88. 88

Wow! As a teen mom, who has made something of myself, I think that this is where the stigma starts. I was not a whore or a slut or a skank. I was a teen who made a mistake and owned up to my responsibilities. Would it had been better to have an abortion? I could have given my child up for adoption but being an adopted child, I just couldn't do it! I had too many issues of my own to let my baby boy go. Selfish? Yes! Do I think that my child would be better off with other people? Yes, I think about the choices i made daily. They always say that hindsight is 20/20. My parents did not support me, I continued with my schooling, and graduated in the top 100 of my class. There are many teens who are not mature enough to take on these responsibilities and this just makes them feel worse. We need to help these girls because everyone makes mistakes!

    89. fUkRD says – reply to this

      89

ok, so though this show disturbes me,..this is still a reality and future possibility for many young girls and I think that as long as this show does not glamorize or glorify being a teenage mom and instead shows the true harsh reality and hardship behind being a teenage single mom, it may actually be a good thing. Other teenage girls will hopefully watch this and see the harsh reality and not think that it's such a cool thing anymore. Hopefully, they can learn from these girls mistakes.

    90. 90

I'll watch it, I don't think it's glamorized because the girls on 16 and Pregnant looked like they had a tough time with their kids and I think it's a good idea to get out to the girls that hey, if you don't use protection this could be you! Only stupid teenagers would watch a show like this and want to have a baby.

    91. 91

that means MTV will be back in Rome, GA…. i'm gonna b on TV!

    92. 92

When I first had my son, I was 18. It was the best thing that ever happend to me in my entire life, to put down teen mothers is completely wrong.
It is so easy to get pregnant, and people should watch what they say becasue it only takes 1 time and they could be walking in the same footsteps as these other teen moms.
And "gogirl1", teen parents "make you sick"? You should be ashamed of yourself. Just becasue you are a teen parent DOES NOT mean that you are unable to care for and love a child, it doesnt mean that you cant be supportive of one either.
People like you make me sick.

sad thing is this a pattern that repeats itself over and over. The more educated a person can become the more unlikely they are to just have a baby without putting deep thought into it. One is inclined to think long term and not short term. If a woman is single and choses to have a baby and she can take care of the baby more power to her. You sacrifice a lot when you chose to have a baby at 16. A lot of doors close. Your life changes it is no longer your own.

Re: Spindoc – I am a 23 year old single mom that got pregnant at 17 I financially and emotionally support my child NOBODY has a right to judge others lives. . . I made the right decision by not killing a baby and by OWNING up to my responsibility!!! you people are ridiculous what kind of parents did you have? I so hope that karma bites all of you negative people in the ass later in life when your kids get pregnant at a young age. And for everybody who thinks birth control stops pregnancy is insane i was on birth control and got pregnant so what about that?
