Nike Puts DJ AM's Shoe Line On Hold

Before he died, DJ AM had secured a deal with shoe-wear empire, Nike, for a special line of sneakers. That merchandise has now been put on hold, for the time being.
The shoes are said to be a limited edition release of Nike Dunks, with DJ AM's personal logo embroidered on it. The company says that they are currently speaking with the family to figure out the "next step in terms of release".
We're sure it will go through as Nike sneakers were something DJ AM was very passionate about - he had around 700 pairs!
We think it would be a nice tribute to him.

I didn't know he was involved in so much, I thought he just DJ'd. Great DJ though, its very sad how loved it seemed he was.
I want some.
if he was part of the process I don't think it's really considered a tribute……..

Why would Nike continue with a line of sneakers fronted by a drug addict that O.D.'d? The amount of flack they would take from the press and parents would kill them.

I agree - enough with glorifying this junkie like he was Mother Theresa. I mean the guy was fronting a reality show for MTV staging interventions… Is this entertainment?? Really?? I find the concept of turning someones drug addiction into entertainment utterly repulsive.

They put the Nikes on hold because Nike will back out if the autopsy says he was on DRUGS again. DUH!!!
OMG it so sad he died. I think if they released a shoe line in his honor that would be awesome. I would buy them if I had money.
I don't think Nike should even put that shoeline out. Why would a sports brand such as Nike want to endorse a fuckin drug addict loser who commits suicide and is all emo about it? Maybe Adam The Emo took their slogan a bit too literally - JUST DO IT.
