Sucks To Be You, Will Ferrell!

Though this summer's box office sales boasted the highest grossing ever, there were some films that were not feeling as much love as they were hoping.
While blockbusters like Harry Potter, Transformers, and The Hangover worked their magic to bring in big bucks, flicks like Bandslam, Away We Go, and Eddie Murphy's Imagine That didn't pull in nearly as much as they had hoped - not even enough to cover the costs of the film!
But the biggest bomb this summer?
The Will Ferrell comedy Land of the Lost.
It had a starting price tag of $100 million dollars, but in the end, it barely made half of it back, raking in only $62 million.
That's just sad!
Guess Will isn't the draw he once was!

He overacts and his comedy is repetitive. I think he should take a hint from Jim carey and play some straight roles- he was great in Elf which was somewhat of a straight role.

He's a very lame version of Chevy Chase and Chase wasn't all that funny either with a few exceptions like his days on SNL or Caddyshack. And, really, in Caddyshack it was Bill Murray who rocked in that one.

"Imagine That" cost $55 million to make and took in only $16 million. That's pretty much twice as bad. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BOX OFFICE FIGURES OR TELEVISION RATINGS! Stop passing judgments on things you don't understand.
i think advertising for this movie was terrible. i saw the commercials and trailers and thought it looked completely stupid. but, i went and saw it anyways. because i love every one of his movies and projects. this movie was hilarious! i was laughing the entire time and i loved it. i do however think that with his movies comes a certain fine tuned sense of humor that not everyone possesses. but for those who do have it, we love it! =)
NO, the idea of making a $100m movie out of a lame saturday morning kids show was one of the stupidest ideas out there. Hollywood rarely has an original idea

Wow. I guess I'm getting old. I love Will Ferrell. I admit the few flicks weren't good, but he's done some classics. (Old School, cameo in Wedding Crashers, Anchorman, etc) If he goes back to writing with Adam Mackay, he'll be alright…
Farrell is the least funny guy in movies. He is so incredibly over-rated. When is Hollywood going to understand that the guy plays the exact same character in every single movie and it's not funny. I refuse to watch a movie if I know he is the lead. I also feel the same was towards Adam Sandler and Steve Carrell.
His movies flat out SUCK. Unless you are a 13 year old boy, then I guess hilarious…
Never thought Will Ferrell was funny to start with he just look like he tries to hard juts my opinion but Perez how about you stfu chances are he made more on that movie than you do in a year's work so whose the failure?

I LOVED that movie!!! I am really surprised it didn't do well. Probably because it was marketed toward kids and it had some really inappropriate humor but it was freaking HILARIOUS!

You know what? I saw Land of the Lost and pissed myself both times. The Cher part and the Chaka dancing scene have to be the best scenes I have ever seen in movies. And Im usually a pretty tough critic. It was an awesome movie, but no one cared to go see it.
At least he's made a living making things instead of sitting at his computer drawing stupid graphics on to people's faces and making inappropriate comments about other people's kids. So, are you saving for your dog's college fund? Teaching it to read? Instructing it in the ways of navigating the world? Wait, that's right, you don't have to do that with a dog. All you have to do is sit around and whine about yourself and throw some food into a bowl twice a day.

This statement also applies to Seth Rogen. I finally understand that it's not Judd Apatow I have a problem with but the fact that Seth Rogen is in almost every movie he does as of late. I don't dislike Seth Rogen even I just think it's a Seth Rogen overload.
Will Ferrell probably still believes that he was what everyone liked about the "gotta have more cowbell" skit on SNL. Everyone loves that skit because of Christopher Walken.
The general public is finally catching up to what most of us have known all along….Ferrell is completely overrated.
Love him! He's hilarious. One of his best - Talladega Nights. All of his movies are hilarious.
well once you kind of play the same bumbling idiot in every movie, that shtick gets old fast. Anchorman was good the first time I saw it then the 2nd time I couldnt believe I laughed at all the first time. Everything after that went down in production value. He should be saving his money.
