At her concert in Greensboro, NC, on Saturday night, Brit Brit debuted a new song on her Circus tour set list. She did a cover of Alanis Morissette's You Oughta Know.
And she actually sang live!!!!!!!!
It was the first time she sang any song live during this whole tour!!!!!!
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Slowly but surely our beloved Brit Brit is rebuilding her confidence. And, hopefully, next tour there will be a lot more singing!

Anyone with any musical background, knows she can't sing or dance! She's average to say the least! Certainly not professionally trained! She does however, hire the right people! She sings LIVE ONCE out of her whole stupid tour and you give her props??? She should ALWAYS sing live at concerts! HELLO people are you kidding me? This is great. I just wish she had sung a different song live. Beyonce already does a cover of this at her I Am… Tour at tbf its 10 times better than this. This is still good but it is gonna get compared to Beyonce and really there is no comparison. But go Brit anyways!!!!!
I must say that I am impressed. With the K-Fed lookalike prop onstage and her general attitude..she owned this! Who knew she could sing!? As a person with a general dislike of pop, I think it would be a great career mood to just cackle away and release this as a cover…and a VERY fitting one, may I add!

There is something wrong with the idea that we celebrate the only song actually sung at a concert.
Seriously Mario, you should be calling her our all over the place of lip synicing her entire tour, but I guess putting you in the "warmup" video pretty much means your silence is purchased.
A few things:
1. I've never understood this thing about how she has zero talent. Her voice is weird but I love listening to it. So do about a zillion other people, which accounts for her album sales. Her dancing is what made her big. Every dancer friend I have agrees that she has chops.
2. My dancer friends also agree that dancing full-out like she does pretty much makes it impossible for her to sing live.
3. The audio on this clip doesn't do the performance justice. I was there last night, and she sounded pretty great. When the first chords of the song rang out we were all, "Dude, she's NOT going to cover that song, right? Surely." But she kind of rocked it the fuck out. By the end people were jumping around and pumping their fists and were really into it. Highlight of the night, man.
4. Having been there last night, I got to see the Perez-as-Queen intro video. Terrifying. Hilarious. Fantastic. Nice job, Mario!

You are missing the point entirely. It's not about paying money to see a lip-synced show or (to be fair to all) a mediocre iconic pop star by tabloid standards. It is all about performance.
Most of the time I beg to differ, but music really is subjective. There is no REAL good or bad. It's all up to the listener him/herself.
"You ought to know" is definitely not a cutesie song. It has been covered quite a few times and every single time I have heard a remake, it has been terrible. This time is no different….
….With the exception that I actually fucking heard Britt sing LIVE and she MEANT and felt the lyrics! Maybe she should consider writing her own from now on!? (Or do a successfully ironic cover!!!)

Ridiculous. I went to a Britney concert a few months ago and was completely unimpressed. She sang NOTHING and barely danced, she relied on her dancers to take care of that. She didn't try at all. Since when did it become accepted - even respected - for a singer to not SING in their concert? Where has real music gone? I will never go to another Britney concert again…and I WAS a huge fan.

Even though Britney can do no wrong with me, I agree with the people that she should sing live more often if not all the time. I love Brit Brit! Seriously though, I think if the press give her some positive publicity and stop being so hard on her, she will continue to be fine. I can honestly say that if I had people follow me around like she did, was unable to have friends that liked me for me and not my money, and had two small babies and a jerk ex-husband,…I would have lost it too!

I was so disappointed when I left her concert ,my favourite part musically turned out to be Marilyn Manson's SWEET DREAMS lol.
Let's hope she goes back to singing…this was a nice choice of song by the way . NOw a few months with a vocal coach and she might be FINALLY back , because so far I've seeen a lot of put-ons and computer engineered throat sounds , not much action from her.

BRITNEY SPEARS is amazing and this video just showa how amazing she is. She was never a strong live performer but since her mtv performance her abilities have been put on display and this video shows that she is working very hard AND BRITNEY SPEARS IS AMAZING. love her xoxo
