Tila Tequila's Boyrfriend Speaks!!!
Yesterday, we told you how reports came in that Tila Tequila called police to arrest her boyfriend, San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman, because he allgedely "choked" her.
Shawne Merriman just released a statement, explaining his side of things.
His lawyer says:
"On September 6, 2009, the San Diego Sheriffs Department responded to a citizens complaint that was initiated by Tila Nguyen (aka Tila Tequila). I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided. We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California. There have been no charges filed against me. I want to thank the San Diego Sheriffs Department for their professionalism. I will continue to cooperate fully with the Department and I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false allegations. I want to put this behind me so I can continue to focus on a successful season for the San Diego Chargers."

This defense of hers that she couldnt have been drunk because she is allergic to alcohol is nonsence. An allergic reaction to alcohol can manifest in many different ways. An asian friend of mine simply turns bright red, another friend is the proverbial cheap date and is wasted off one beer.

Re: christiex – Except on one of the seasons of her reality show, she was doing shots. I was forced to watch while staying with my in-laws and my skeezy 17 year old brother in law drooled. Not to mention "alcohol" isn't technically the only thing that can get you drunk in the strict sense of say hops. Alcohol is all encompassing of anything, but if you are allergic to hops, you can still drink wine. If you are allergic to grapes, you can still drink rum… saying you are allergic to all alcohol is saying you are allergic to all plants - when in reality you are only allergic to poison ivy. She was heavily intoxicated ( which you didn't bold in the text), she tried to leave/drive away (in Poway no less, which any SoCal local will tell you have the most winding and dangerous roads in San Diego) and he restrained her.

There is a difference between restraining her in a violent way, and restraining her so she wouldn't leave and hurt herself or someone else.

For the second part, SHE said her name comes from NOT drinking and something about being called Tequila and the irony of not being able to drink.
They just read the police report on ESPN Radio.. according to the cops, when they arrived she WAS drunk, and showed no visible signs of abuse/harm, so no photos for evidence were taken.
If he did throw her to the grown and restrain her, you'd think at minimum she'd have scraped hands (from trying to break a fall to the ground). But nothing. So, drunk woman calls up and alleges abuse. And, FYI, if he DID restrain her from getting into a car liquored, then give the man a medal. I'd rather have more people restrained and prevented from driving drunk then I would just saying "well, I have to let her go" Too many friends dead by drunk drivers. F- them. Know the sheriffs dept.- a relative is one. They were not going to arrest him - she made a citizens arrest, and since it is felony charges, they had to take him in. There were no injuries, and he was not charged at that time. She was absolutely drunk (allergies or not) and had no injuries.

In response to this. I don't know who to believe and everyone should not judge before the facts are out. But here is something I find odd. Why would she be trying to leave late at night if she was not scared of something? That is the main reason and she was apparently trying to get away and he was stopping her. We need to get the rest of the facts people before insulting her. If your a fan or hers or Shawn's regardless we don't all know all the facts yet so simmer with the insults.
Re: lakers2010 – Actually, given the police statement and testimony from witnesses - we have the whole story. They went to the bar, they both drank and she slobbered over him with lap dances, while she got drunker. They cruise to his pad with a bunch of other people, she probably wasn't center of attention and wanted to leave driving drunk. Shawne stopped her from possibly killing a van full of kids, and she fell down. The cops stated no marks on her, that she was completely and totally intoxicated and inebriated (and they have the experience to know the difference) and when they wouldn't do anything, she demanded a citizen's arrest. The hospital recorded no injuries and no visible marks, which she should have had, if her story of him throwing her to the ground were true, a scrape, a red mark, some dirt on her… she had nothing.
