Tila Tequila's Boyrfriend Speaks!!!
Yesterday, we told you how reports came in that Tila Tequila called police to arrest her boyfriend, San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman, because he allgedely "choked" her.
Shawne Merriman just released a statement, explaining his side of things.
His lawyer says:
"On September 6, 2009, the San Diego Sheriffs Department responded to a citizens complaint that was initiated by Tila Nguyen (aka Tila Tequila). I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided. We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California. There have been no charges filed against me. I want to thank the San Diego Sheriffs Department for their professionalism. I will continue to cooperate fully with the Department and I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false allegations. I want to put this behind me so I can continue to focus on a successful season for the San Diego Chargers."

Yeah she's allergic to alcohol…which would explain why she was always drinking on her TV show and why she always went to clubs and took pictures of her holding some drink.

This is still such a spin story. I seriously doubt that she is allergic to ALL alcohol as others have said. She was SEEN DRINKING…enough said. And personally, I would do the same to anyone I saw going to leave in a car while drunk. He may have had a rep write the statement, but you can't argue the facts. THEY were drinking, SHE tried to drive, HE restrained her. She has to file citizens arrest since THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO EVIDENCE OF SUCH. I am just confused because I thought she said in her book she was allergic to alcohol which is why she was given the name "Tila Tequila"… so if that is true she couldn't have been intoxicated so I think he may be lying…
