We have to admit, the stunt shows some class!
Ludacris gave away 20 cars to deserving people who wrote to him about their recent struggles losing and keeping their jobs without transportation.
Ludacris read thousands of essays from people across the nation, all in search of help in their dire situations. He said: "To be efficient, you need some transportation of your own to get there. That's why I wanted to give back to those who need it."
On Sunday, the rapper, who had partnered with a suburban Atlanta dealership for the giveaway, presented the winning participants with a brand new car and 30 days worth of free gas.
Next time Luda, partner with Oprah Winfrey. She’s got enough money to give away a lot more cars.
But kudos to him. He should feel proud for doing such a nice thing!

Have always loved Luda!!! Benn to three of his shows! & even though I love me some Oprah I was mad as HELL when she tried to dog him out during his "Crash" movie promo!! He does a lot more for his community than the majority of artists would ever do!! Congrats Baby!! I always knew you were amazing!! Just more proof in the pudding!!!! XOXOX

I love that him (and Oprah) have both been able to give cars out. However…they seem to forget the things that go with cars: car insurance…and gas. How you going to get anywhere, if you don't have the money to pay for gas?

I'll bet he paid for the cars himself. On the other hand, Oprah did not. G.M. and the Pontiac division donated the G-6 cars and she just used her show for the stunt.
No! He gave away people's trade ins from CASH FOR CLUNKERS! It was explained on CNN- He DID NOT give new cars with the dealer- but people's old used junk cars. The dealership needed tax write offs bc they were still excepting CASH FOR CLUNKERS when the govt stopped the program!!!!!!!

hes awesome. way more awesome than oprah. its easy for someone like oprah to call up a car company and have them give cars and make it seem like she actually paid for them. for someone like ludacris to do what he did is saying something because he doesnt have the recources that oprah does.
plus hes a really good actor. would love to see him act more.
WTF ever..!!!!!! I waited on him last week when he got some food to-go and didn't even tip. My co-worker waited on him later that same week and he only tipped 15%.. Seriously. I'd rather not wait on the Celebs that are not going to tip and stick to the regular people who tip 20%+.. And the service was excellent.. He's just a cheap ass… BTW. The cars weren't new and the people still had to pay for the tags and title and taxes.. DOUCHE…
Ironically, Ludacris had a big fight with Oprah not encouraging rap artists. Of all the gangsta or pseudo-gangsta artists which I usually stand away from, Ludacris has always appeared to me as the most sympathetic and one I would actually have a talk with. Nice move.

too bad Oprah didn't pay the taxes on the cars she gave to her studio audience. I hope Ludacris didn't leave his recipients with that burden.

Well after reading the comments Im not sure what to say, either way though its a much better story than most posted on here. At least there is someone out there doing some good. He helped and thats what counts. I sincerely hope that more celebs get the message and help the less fortunate.
