Thank Goodness! 'Very Psychotic' Madonna Stalker Has Been Captured!!!
What a relief!
To recap - early this morning, we heard the terrifying news that 54-year-old Robert Dewey Hoskins, a man who was convicted of stalking and threatening Madonna, had escaped from a mental hospital in Norwalk, CA.
The LAPD were describing the man as follows:
"…A very psychotic man when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies."
Now, we're VERY happy to report that the Los Angeles Police Department have captured Madonna's very dangerous stalker!
The LAPD announced that Hoskins was found around 9 a.m. this morning "not far from the mental facility from which he escaped."
He's currently in police custody and he's being escorted back to the hospital.
We're just glad that nobody was hurt while this man was on the loose. We're ESPECIALLY glad that he wasn't able to get close to Madonna.
Great job, LAPD! We're very pleased and impressed!

as someone from england, who has lived with americans i find i INSANE that you have to get into crippiling debt over healthcare, its a basic human right that if something goes wrong you go to the doctor and get it sorted, we pay a perscription charge but only if you can afford it, but if your life depends on the medication you dont pay a penny… the nhs might be flawed but i feel so lucky i live in england compared to america when it comes to things like this!

The reason why us Canadians have to wait to get certain procedures done, is because everyone here that needs it get's it, therefore we have to wait. And the reason why Americans don't have wait lists is that not everyone can afford out of pocket, to get the help they need and deserve. If any of you think that an across the board national health care is bad your seriously screwed up. Canadian health care is not sub-par. Even if you have a good job as i do, you still can't afford to pay the $100,000 for cancer treatment, or a kidney transplant. It makes me sad to think that some americans think that because it is "government funded" that it's not a good thing. Think about it.
Yeah, let's insure everyone - because forcing people out of public plans with the addendum where no new plans are allowed, adding thousands upon thousands of people to an already stressed GP market, while they run for cover, and the increase in patients increase the cost overall to a doctor while getting paid less, having more jump out of the GP all for people who either A)Qualify for Medicaid/Medicare, or B) Don't want to give up their money for an insurance program through work. People want to compare it to the Medicaid/Medicare debacle, but if you TRULY want to know how a government system would work, check out the military treatment and coverage (and even more scary, the clause that you cannot sue a doctor for negligence or malpractice NO MATTER WHAT, even if they just decide to gut you). Soldiers die everyday due to the "government run" medical system nowhere near combat, while shelling out $20 million to improve a base hospital to shut down, hours long drives to see doctors, referrals taking months to kick in, wrong equipment like child's breathing tubes causing suffocation, multiple miscarriages for not paying for a $70 hormone test… failures in HMO is another clue.

And I should also mention, no one is going to die because they don't have healthcare. ER's by law cannot turn a patient away. If an inability exists, the hospitals all have programs from charitable contributions and tax write offs. When a doctor devised a single upfront payment of $150 (I believe, maybe $180) and $10 per visit for an ENTIRE YEAR, Congress made it illegal - Gee, I wonder why… Congress made it against the law now, for doctors to practice on flat fees. With the healthcare debate now, we should all be questioning WHY?

What people don't get is that we don't need Obama's plan to change health insurance. Health insurance can be made cheaper and more competitive by LIMITING governmental influence on health care– for example, New York state requires that health insurance companies cover maternity costs for all members… this INCLUDES single men. This isn't the only example– some states require coverage of non-emergency, elected services (acupuncture, for one).
Another major problem is that most, if not all, state governments won't allow citizens to get health insurance from companies out of state. This limits competition and cuts down on potential coverage options.
If health insurance was put in the hands of the consumer, then health insurance companies would have to lower rates to keep up with competition. It's called Laizzes-Faire Capitalism. Look it up and do more homework before you participate in this "group think."

As a Canadian, I am so thankful for our healthcare system. I had to have a surgery in 2004, and if I lived in the states (even with my job) I wouldn't have been able to afford it. My life has improved substantially since. Furthermore, the healthcare system here has saved the lives of many of my close family and friends. Sure, like anything, there are some potential set backs, but it works, and it works for everyone.
Keep an open mind.

Awesome! I have been sick for over a month with a bad cough, but cannot afford to go to the doctor to get treated. I do my part by exercise and healthy diet. I wish we could all have the right to health. I work two part-time jobs that don't offer it, so it not always about being lazy.

Who is going to pay for that? Americans are broke. I support the overall idea, that there needs to be a safety net for people without insurance, but there is just no money for it. America is broke, tapped, no more money. There needs to be a cleansing of all the corruption in Medicare and Medicaid and a stop put to the 2 dollar aspirin at a hospital. I'm Canadian, and my brother passed from Leukemia two years ago after a 20 year battle. In his last years, his health care went through the roof. But, because of the Canadian Health Care system, the ONLY things we had to pay for were the TV and telephone in his hospital room because they were deemed non-necessities. We really feel for the Americans who do not have insurance. We get it from the day we are born. Good luck reforming your system. It will be a big job.

A lot of these people who say "I just can't afford it", you really CAN afford it, you just choose to budget your money elsewhere. If you really wanted healthcare, you would forego your internet service. You would cut other expenses. My sister is 21, working part time as a waitress, and she pays her own health insurance through Blue Cross. They have single policies for $100 per month. That's NOT that much money if you cut back on stuff that you don't need.

No one has addressed the flawed numbers that the Obama administration is putting out on the under or non insured. There are truly onlu about 5 million. Obama's numbers include those young dudes who think they are invincible and don't want insurance, people that make over 50k a year and could afford it, those that are actually eligible for medicaid and/or medicare and don't know it and lastly, illegals. Lies, lies, lies. inflating and creating a crisis. that is what he is about. I don't think it would cost 1 trillion dollars to cover 5 million Americans.
