   And what makes Perez such an expert now? We have the BEST healthcare system in the world and that's not saying much. People from around the world who can afford to come to the US to be treated, come to the US to be treated! Of course, the increase in unemployment has increased those without families. I agree that we need reform, but it is a philosophical debate. The reform should engage in the quality of health care and not the quantity.

   What's wrong with you people?? This is an important issue. There are plenty of people who DO work but their employers do not offer health care. There are children in this country who are ill and their parents have no way of helping them! I can't believe there are so many people without compassion. This upcoming generation will be the death of us all! You only care about yourselves and no one else. Heaven help us!!

   Re: rezzyfan – i work, and have been working since i was 14 years old, and I don't have health insurance. I have to come out of pocket, and I cannot get credit for the expense when i file taxes at the end of year. You only get credit/reimbursed if you have health insurance. Why is everyone getting on Obama for this? The doctors, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies are all in cahoots with each other, making millions, while us poor schmucks live in poverty, pain, and some of us usually die, because we are denied proper care and medicines. Lest we forget that these pharmaceutical companies are killing and maming us with their chemcials compounds. HEALTHCARE REFORM NOW!!! LEGALIZE GANJA NOW!

   Re: imsoregistered – AETNA. I can't remember the exact premium but I have HEalth, Dental, and Vision and it's about $150 + a check. It went up like $20 at the beganing of the year.

    a teared health care system is not the way to go. this system that is being pushed is teared. this system is NOT like the canadian syste. the wait lines will be long for the poor because the rich will be able to shell out money and get a common cough looked at before a heart attack of a poor person.     I am definitely not bashing the military…but I have military health care….and I think most ppl would be really disapointed in gov't run health care. And our taxes would go up…someone has to pay for the health care. It won't be the gov't considering they are already in billions of dollars of debt. Also doctors can opt out of gov't health care…so you may not be able to pick you doctors.

    People really need to educate themselves on this subject. I find it completely offensive when people start mouthing off about health care in other countries. You don't know the first thing about it so how can you possibly comment on it! I also find it interesting that you don't think you have "the right" to health care. So if you, your spouse, your children, your family come down with a terrible ailment you don't think you have the right to treatment without being gouged for thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars? I LOVE my health care system and would rather shoot myself than accept a system such as yours. I can go into any ER, hospital, clinic, etc. in the entire country and receive the health care I'm entitled to!! No one profits off of my sickness!!! There is no cashiers desk waiting to take my payment! I simply hand over my "care card" and I'm all good. Statistic's have proven that people in countries with socialized medical systems have longer life expectancies than those without … yes, that would be you! Don't knock it until you have tried it. And try to remember who is paying for all those ads against health care reform … they stand to lose a lot of your hard earned money!
