Melrose Debuts With A Dud!

The series premiere of Melrose Place Tuesday night was a HUGE disappointment for The CW.
The highly advertised premiere came in a staggering last place in the network ratings!
Even last year's (now-canceled) Privileged had a bigger audience for their first episode…by 37 percent!
Ouch! The truth hurts, doesn't it, Asslee?
We're not sure if Heather Locklear can even save this hot mess of a show?

I really thought it was much better than the original. I think the low ratings stem from the fact that the first season of 90210 was such a huge let down.

i watched.. it was, bleh.. ashlee was hardly in it & her acting was less than impressive, BUT i will watch next week only because i have nothing better to do on a tuesday night
yah tuned in, honeslty..the acting was bad then tuned out.
i watched mainly to see asslee flop… and she did it beautifully. she CANT ACT, and shes fug
that one guy, david? dustin? the one who was with that sydney chick? he's hot. so i'll watch for him. but if it didn't come on right after 90210, i'd probably forget about it and not watch.
I watched the first 15 minutes and then turned it off. I don't plan on watching it. I wasn't thrilled with 90210 either for what it's worth.

I watched it and I thought it was amazing. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz did an amazing job despite your constant criticism. The plot amazing and I loved it. New Tuesday night show to watch.

i really like ashlee simpson but i thought the show was horrible..the pool scene where they found the body was sooo cheesy. there was too much going on….now if you wanna talk about 90210!!!! that season premier was awesome!!!!!
It was decent. The highlights for me were seeing the original cast members, so maybe it was better left alone? IDK I will prob tune in next week to see how the it goes.

Wait, Privileged was canceled!?! I looooved that show!!! Better than Melrose Place, deff!! I watched, not by choice, and I was a bit glued to my tv, but I couldn't get a feel to it.. Still not sure if I liked it or not…hmmm!

I tuned in last night and actually thought it was pretty good. I didn't think the previews did it justice. I'm definitely going to add it to my weekly lineup of fave shows.

I DVR'd it, original MP viewer, so I tuned in to see the "old" stars, I hear Heather Locklear's in talks to return? If she comes back, I'd watch every week for sure - for now, I'll probably watch next week, just to see how they'll incorporate Syd as a ghost or as flashbacks? no one has ever said that the suits at the networks were smart. besides Starter Wife how many good shows have they cancelled in the last two seasons.
this Melrose is more than lame, its on a fast wagon to the sitcom-graveyard. if they want to save the show they should pay Heather Locklear whatever she wants and bring her back ASAP, otherwise it will be cancelled after the third episode. this show is not about miss simpsons talent whatever anyone may think. she is part of an ensemble.there is no lack of untalent out there.
i kind of liked it. the best parts were when they talked about the old characters from the first melrose. bring back Kimberly, Peter, Amanda and Billy and I'll be there!

Melrose actually took me by surprise when i tuned in last night on the CW. I was expecting it to be a huge let down like 90210 but Melrose was great! It had the right amount of love, danger and intrigue to keep me glued to my tv. I will definitely be a religious follower of the show. Everyone should watch it and fall in love all over with the series.

Hi was kinda excited about it, so I started to watch it… after 5 mins I was bored so I checked my email while watching the tv, then after 15 mins I just turned off the tv.
It was weird, it felt like they were trying to mix CSI and Grey's Anatomy,while Melrose Place should be completely different.

The premier of the original Melrose Place sucked, so I never watched again, but somehow it lasted for years. I never understood how it could have lasted as long as it did.

Melrose BLEW! It was not good at all. 90210, however, was amazing. I could tell they were trying to do things differently this season, and I like it.
I was a faithful viewer of the original and only true Melrose Place….. this new one was HORRIBLE!!! None of the actors could act (altho to be honest.. when watching reruns of the original.. neither could they!!)…. the storyline was sooo stupid. And suddenly, Michael Mancini has some 20'year old son we never heard about before?? And they explain it with a one liner about how Michael didn't acknowledge him for 13 years???? Come on now…. don't insult our intelligence. If you're going to bring back old characters, at least make it realistic.
I guess for those in their early 20's this show might be appealing… but compared to the original??? THIS SHOW HAS GOT TO GO. I eventually just fast-forwarded to scenes with original cast members.. the rest was just dumb.
I was a fan of the original Melrose-nothing can compare to that, esp. with Heather Locklear and the red-headed woman from Desp. Housewives. Its an insult to even have this verision on now-same with 90210.

Love it…at first i thought 90210 was stupid but it got so good!! If you like scandalous over dramatic drama then these are for you!! I have no problem admitting that I love these trashy shows. great guilty pleasure. I was also a huge fan of both original shows as well.

I just watched it, I didn't really care for it. Growing up we were dirt poor, so the bunny ears on our lil black and white didn't get channel 2. I missed out on the original one so was hoping to like this one and see what the big deal was. I'll give it another try with next weeks episode. FYI: i missed out on 90210 too. But i like this new one.
