Ellen Dishes To RyRy On Idol!!!

As previously reported, Ellen DeGeneres will be replacing Paula Abdul as American Idol judge, so it seems apropos that the funnywoman found time to call her new costar, Ryan Seacrest on Thursday to chat On Air.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On her qualifications for being a judge:
"The people are the ones that choose the American Idol. Ultimately it doesn't come down to some expert in the music industry, it comes down to everybody at home that says 'that's the person I relate to, that's the person that I'm going to buy music from'."On her judging style:
"I'm not going to be mean, I hate when Simon [Cowell] is that mean. You can be constructive and criticize somebody that's helpful instead of mean spirited."On Paula Abdul's departure:
"I hope Paula [Abdul] is okay with it. I don't want anybody to think I took Paula's job away. I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in. I certainly don't want to be that person that is the evil taking Paula's job away."

Perez! How will this all play out? I had to fast forward through her comments when she visited So You Think You Can Dance! Howard Stern is right! She only commented on herself and was unlistenable! Stuttering and what not. That is her schtick. Many moons ago, I was excited about her, even when she did the movie whaaayy back when playing Hetero! Pre Anne Hash-eesh. It has been more of the same and I'm sure she tests over the moon and is a safe bet. She will at least have a couple million viewers come over and jump the shark along with her "Safety Dance" Ass.
Artie Lange is right!!! Her comedy is stream of consciencousness. And if you like her as our poster child for "safe Gay Woman of the moment"… so be it!!! Yikes!!!
I know my Stay at Home Mom Friends love Ellen and she is good for the whole family. Maybe I'm harder core. I don't fall over myself for Paula, but at least the show's Director was able to get the hell off of her when she wasn't going anywhere. With Ellen they will be afraid to "kill their darlings" and cut her off after one trainwreck of a sentence as they did with Paula!

Now we've got a sensible judge! Not that crazy drug addict! I'm so happy that Ellen is on Idol, now I will watch it religiously ^_^.
I love Ellen on her show, but she was a horrible judge on SYTYCD. Her stupid quips were clearly scripted and she didn't even read them well.
I love that Ellen is replacing Paula! I will actually be watching now since I no longer have to change the channel every time that Paula talks.

I don't want to hear all about her. I don't watch her show anymore because she was so sweet. I like Simon and he is saying what we ALL want to say but no one is listening to us.
Re: Vexation – "Fucking" Cleaver? Really? Number One… she's not able to use that word in public or she will lose her endorsements. Yes, she does what one of the best actors ever (per a TCM documentary about James Cagney) said is really necessary to be a good "actor". She plants her feet and looks the camera/person she delivers a line to in the eye, then delivers the line without "fumphering".
It's all a matter of taste. And if you like Ellen, "YAY" for you! We like who we like because we identify with the person talking in the picture and their "schemata" that appears to match ours. The Info surrounding Ellen that is . Identifying with what we like is a way to empower ourselves without getting up off of our asses!!!! Which, is not always a bad thing. It's fun!
Ellen's ability to win you over or me at any given moment isn't a license for her to do well on A.I. This is another "Katie Couric" debocle. High ratings at first…

What in the world does Ellen know about singing? She is so annoying and there's nothing funny about her. The number of Idol viewers will decrease substantially when this thing on board.
