Katherine Heigl Talks Adoption!

We reported yesterday that Grey's Anatomy diva Katherine Heigl is adopting a baby with with her husband, Josh Kelly.

Well, she sat down yesterday with Ellen DeGeneres to talk about the 10-month old Korean addition to her family:

"It's been a big part of my life and my family. My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the 70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do…I just wanted to make sure that I was marrying a guy who understands that this was going to have to happen. So about a year ago is when we said, 'OK, let's start the process,' and the process is intense. It's different but it isn't, do you know what I mean? It's just as intense I'm sure to have a baby biologically because you're going through the whole physical sort of thing of it."

The baby girl was given the name Naleigh, a combination of Katherine's sister and mother's names (Leigh and Nancy), but that might change once they actually meet her. To this point, they have only seen her through pictures.

Somebody over at Grey's better be constructing one huge nursery. Very soon there's going to be an influx of babies coming to Seattle Grace.

Congrats to the lucky soon-to-be parents!

    It's nice that her sister was also adopted from Korea as the child will have someone to relate to. Don't think this is for publicity. As she grew up with an adopted sister it'll be very close to her heart. There are worse things parents can do than smoke.

    She's an idiot. Raising a 10 month old child is not as hard as raising a newborn, not to mention 9 months of pregnancy and childbirth. Those first couple of months are insanely difficult! Aside from that comment, I commend her for adopting a child.

    Adoption is beautiful, wonderful !! But lets rejoice shall we… yet another celeb who has a crazy busy schedule is adopting a baby that a nanny with be the mother too. She'll probably spend 1.5 hours with the child per day.
