Neverland Theme Park Is A Go!
The neighbors are gonna be pissed!
According to the NY Post, the Jackson family and owners of Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch have decided to turn the famed property into a Graceland-like amusement park to celebrate the King of Pop.
"This is important to Jermaine — he is really pushing for this. He has a big vision for Neverland as a museum, tourist attraction and concert venue," said a source close to the family.
Of course, he does!
The park could open as early as Christmas and developers have already visited the US Patent and Trademark Office to protect several titles to potentially name the 2,676-acre estate.
The project is currently using the title Sycamore Valley Ranch, LLC, which was a joint business endeavor between Michael and private equity company, Colony Capital, in order to save Neverland from foreclosure last year.
Although Michael was laid to rest over 150 miles away in Los Angeles, the Jackson family never lost hope in developing the Santa Barbara property in his honor. They even pushed on despite Michael's claims to never return to the property he lived in for almost 20 years after being acquitted on child molestation charges.
"He [Jermaine] wants to put a headstone at the base of the tree that Michael liked climbing — which was his favorite spot. Colony Capital wants to open it up as early as the Christmas holidays and no later than February, but the two obstacles will be the county and the Jackson estate," continued the source.
Nearby residents cannot imagine construction to this extent in their quiet neighborhood. The area is zoned for agriculture, meaning that there are no nearby sewer lines. A mayjah infrastructure upgrade would be needed to widen roads and replace septic tanks to something more durable.
"I'm pretty sure anyone who lives on the road would say that, that it wouldn't be a popular idea," said nearby resident, Elizabeth Farnum. "Our experience is that a majority feel that way."

I cannot imagine the county and the neighbours will not be able to block this appalling money grab by Jermaine. It could never open in a few months like this article claims their intention is. And I cannot believe Mama Jackson will support this. This is so fucked up…Michael himself didn't even like the fuckin' place before he died because of all the shit that went on there, but now that he's dead it's all of a sudden a reat place to memorialize his life in???
