Nicolas Cage Leaving The Green Hornet, Rogen Can't Catch A Break!

| Filed under: Film FlickersNicolas Cage

Yet another setback for Seth Rogen's The Green Hornet!

Nicolas Cage
, who was in talks to play the villain Mr. X in the film, has bailed on the project. It's being reported that there was a conflict with the studio bosses about his deal.

Director Stephen Chow left the film as well earlier this year, but was quickly replaced by Michel Gondry.

This doesn't sound good, Seth!

It's not known yet whether or not Cage's leaving will affect the production schedule.

It was recently announced that the Green Hornet release date was pushed back and will be hitting theaters in December 2010.

We'll see!

Do your research! While he was never officially cast, Heat Vision reports that Nicolas Cage won't be playing the villain in Columbia Pictures' The Green Hornet, which director Michel Gondry has started filming in Los Angeles.

Sources for the Blog say that the studio is on the hunt for a new actor to play the villain in the comic book adaptation. No scenes with Cage were shot for the movie.

We want KEVIN BACON as the baddie! YEAAHHH!!

I love Seth but he is such a weird choice for Green Hornet….totally should have gone with Ryan Reynolds or someone like that…

This sounds like a positive to me! I haven't been able to tolerate a Nic Cage performance in quite some time. Plus, the wigs keep getting more and more ridiculous. I think the project is screaming for a hottie villian. I mean, not to be blunt, but Seth Rogen ain't really the sexy super hero type!

Good call on Kevin Bacon! Can't see why Cage still gets work?! He always looks like he is working through a hangover. Whatever.

Wasn't Gondry the director of that weird Jim Carrey movie?

    UMMM helllOOO

Nick Cage is old and haggard and every movie he's in is a waste of valuable time and money.
Michel Gondry is a brilliant BRILLIANT director and I've never even heard of this "Stephen Chow" character.
    I have high hopes!!!

Well.. not too high, as even the Green Hornet himself was kind of lame.

Nicholas Coppola hasn't made a decent movie since Gone in 60 Seconds….he's such a B-Actor now…he's soo annoying in ALL his latest movies…there was a time i heard he was ready to give up acting….maybe he should think about it again…

I'm not sure about Seth in this film it sounds lame but then again I don't even know what it's about, he must be getting paid alot to be sticking around with all this back and forth though!

Haha i completely forgot seth wrote the screen play for it

The ONLY movies that Nick was good in was Face Off, Raising Arizona and Con Air. Kevin Bacon makes a really good bad guy. Isn't Seth Rogen supposed to be a "comedian"? Not a very good actor. Haven't seen anything with him in it that's worth a shit.

Nicolas Cage leaving a movie can only be a boon.
