So it was finally about time.
Paula Abdul has officialy released a statement about her new replacement on American Idol, Ellen DeGeneres.
Says Miz Abdul:
"AMERICAN IDOL is a fantastic show that offers an invaluable platform to young talent. Ellen DeGeneres is wildly funny and talented in her own right.
I wish her and the show only the best of luck.”

We think Paula's hating the fact that the execs at Fox have officially replaced her.

I hate Idol, so I could give a fuck less what goes on, but Ellen is a stupid choice, and nutty Paula made that show!

Perez you are so two-faced. When all the media was loving on Paula you were too but now you are back to hating on her. That was a very classy statement for her to release. She didn't have to say anything. Fox has been a total ass about this whole transition. All they are interested in is money and ratings. They could care less about having credible judges.
Ellen is a GREAT choice. Paula will be MISSED dearly. But face it…SIMON makes the show!!!!! He is not replaceable!!!

I think Paula is crying at home shocked that Fox actually replaced her. And I don't blame her one bit. Ellen has no music industry experience. Perez has more experience than Ellen!
The show just got so much more interesting and worth watching with Ellen as the new judge. Love her.

I am not surprised by that comment! It was a very respectable remark…I don't think Paula has to hate on Ellen just because Fox is being assholes. But I think it is very funny that she says Ellen is wildly funny and talented in her own right because…perhaps she may have a double meaning in the statement after all.
I read it as a genuine compliment from Ms. Abdul however, I also see it as meaning that the show is a joke as well. A comedian fit for a joke (The show)…lol…

What I'm interested in knowing is…..what will be Ellen's salary? Money was an issue w/ Paula leaving to begin with. Now Idol gets an almost BIGGER name to take the spot so did they part with MORE money to get Ellen? If so, AI bit themselves in the ass. They should have offered Paula the same amount offered to everyone else and she would have stayed. NO, I won't watch IDOL.

It probably does hurt. Why do you think she's not allowed to be hurting Perez? She was replaced in the blink of an eye. I think Kara was suppose to be her replacement but not a lot of people warmed to her like the execs thought they would. They handled everything all wrong. I do like Ellen a lot but I'll miss Paula and so will a lot of people.

As Matt Lauer said the other day in regard to Paula, "I think she made a big mistake". Ellen is a brilliant choice and a breath of fresh air for that show. Paula was always annoying and contributed nothing as far as judging went. Her statement is gracious but I would bet she's regretting leaving right about now.
