Something Wild For You
We've just gotten our hands on these first character posters for the upcoming film Where The Wild Things Are, based off the 1963 children's book by Maurice Senda.
If you aren't familiar with the story, it deals with a young boy named Max who, after having a harsh fight with his mother, adventures out with some mystical creatures called "the wild things."
It was actually a widely controversial book back when it was first published due to the fact that it was so thematically dark and considered too violent for young readers.
But judging at how flawless these images are to the illustrations from the book, we think it'll live up to the fan's expectations.
The flick stars James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara, and Alice Parkinson.

I think this movie looks so bad
it was actually considered controversial because of the dysfunctional relationship between the mom and max, implying the mom ignored her child and neglected him, etc, which wasn't really ever portrayed in a children's book before. i studied it in a children's literature class, so if you're going to post that, at least post the correct info.
ps the author is maurice SENDAK, one of the most famous children's authors of all time. PLEASE GET THE NAME RIGHT.

I am so excited about this movie!! It is one of my favorite books to use when I'm teaching about realistic fiction and fantasy to my 3rd graders. It looks like it is going to be great and that it will remain true to the book!

Having said that, I can't wait for this movie. I read the book as a child and I read it to my child (named Max) as well.

The author is Maurice SENDAK and it is a wonderful book about the world of imagination. This movie looks, by the trailer I saw, like it does the book justice. This is not a simple feat and I am looking forward to this movie immensely. The imagery is incredible!! Perez, your description of the book sucks, by the way.
