The Diva Returns! Natalie Cole Welcomed With Standing Ovation!
After being diagnosed with Hepatitis C last year, Natalie Cole has been through what she describes as "a real tough journey."
The singer has undergone chemotherapy and kidney transplant in May, yet she was in full force at her comeback concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Wednesday.
"I really do have to say … it really is a miracle time. It's a miracle night for me," she told the crowd. "I never thought I'd be standing here healthy and whole and 100 percent."
Cole received several standing ovations throughout the night in which she performed 17 songs, including This Will Be, Our Love and Unforgettable.
"My heart is very full tonight, and I know a lot of you know why. It's just good to be back. You know what I'm saying?" she asked as the audience went crazy. "You know, things don't always go the way we want it to. Things happen unexpectedly. You got to take the good with the bad."
Amen, sister! And congrats and the speedy recovery!

I think what she did to her father’s music was tragic & purely motivated for the purpose of getting her own voice heard on the airwaves. There was a time when one could hear Nat King Cole’s beautiful melodies on the radio; but now whenever the piano begins to play and Nat King Cole begins to sing and we remember his music from years gone by, it only takes a few seconds before we are tortured that it’s her ‘re-due/duet of a classic and she destroys it! It happens every time. I wish radio stations would refuse to play her ‘duets, and go back to playing the classics that were/are the ballads as interpreted by the man himself. She wasn’t there (the song) when he sang them, when we heard them and they made an imprint in each of our lives, and it has nothing to do with her, other than she (in doing it) pretty much sealed the deal that we will never be able to hear the man on the radio again that doesn’t include her. Sad. Was it worth it Natalie?

I was at the concert. She was AMAZING. Belted out song after song, no breaks. Unforgettable! One of those performances you will always remember!
I wish her the best. I have always thought she has the most beautiful eyes. I wish I had eyes like that.

Addicts and alcoholics deserve a second chance at life. A relative of mine has been sober for more than 15 years and received a liver. He now speaks to youth in group homes about addiction, and has done more in his life than people like you who sit home and insult others, spewing misinformation. I would love to see any empirical evidence of where she "paid" for her kidney. You guys FAIL at life. Go back to high school and finish your ethics courses…
