Whitney Opens Up On Darkest Days
The long awaited interview between Whitney Houston and Oprah Winfrey is almost upon us. It's sure to be an emotional roller coaster as the tell all interview will know no boundaries.
One of the most shocking revelations we learned from the interview is not just Whitney's admittance that she was addicted to crack while married to Bobby Brown, but that she spent seven months in her pajamas because of it!
Oprah promises that the interview will leave you gasping as Whitney opens and divulges into her hardships with drugs and with Bobby, though she never blames him for the drug use.
Oprah explains:
"She talks about when it started to go wrong after The Bodyguard - that was a long time ago… The thing most shocking to me is that Whitney tried to make herself smaller to fit in a marriage so the man could be bigger. How many women have done that? I deeply felt for her. She was trying to be the good wife. She really, truly loved him."
Wow. It's sure to be heart-wrenching.

I can't wait. I've known people very close to me who have gone through addiction. People who make fun of it just don't understand and should be ashamed. Those who make it out and to the other side are heroes in my book.
Regardless of what happens with her career, her albums, her voice. The fact that she has been able to get past some of this makes me love her all the more. And I really do think she has beaten it. The reason? Anyone who has followed Whitney for years knows she is NEVER this forthcoming. NEVER this truthful and honest. Interviewing her can be a nightmare, because she just does not open up. And I say that as someone who loves her. Obviously, as this clip proves, she has done some work on herself and is ready to be honest and free.
Again, whatever happens with her career, I am delighted and thrilled that she is embracing the truth and reaching for a healthy, happy future.
As a side note, my heart broke to ever think she thought she had to make herself smaller to find happiness with a man. She had the world at her feet and possessed the greatest voice in pop music. It goes to show the lengths the heart will go to find love and completion. I'm glad she learned that to stand alone, healthy and on your own terms is a victory when standing with someone else means desolation and destruction.

This woman is an example of how someone so talented and brilliant can lose themselves by falling in love with the wrong person. I am proud of her for loving herself, her family and her fans enough to get herself back together. All you sick haters out there have what's coming to ya and well deserved. I'm happy to see Whitney Houston back and it's so nice to see her well… sober. I'm sure it's hard for her to keep off of crack but it takes one step at a time and a solid foundation to keep you going.

It's so sad because she was a superstar. Huge and incredibly talented and beautiful and she let a drug ruin her life. All for a stupid guy who was clearly an idiot. Love is blind. What does Whitney's relationship with Robin have to do with her drug use..Nothing. She does not owe the world any explanations but she has decided to come clean about her the part of her life that almost destroyed her. Robin, Eddie Murphy or no one else has anything to do with that. There is a difference between wanting to be informed and being nosy. Some people expect too much. Just because we buy their music does NOT mean we are entitled to ALL of the details of their life. She really doesn't owe any explanations but is opening up and that should be enough. For those who said once an addict always an addict, you need to check your facts. Natalie Cole was more strung out then Whitney could ever be but once she came clean, her career really took off. Samuel Jackson has been clean for decades. You would be shocked and amazed at who the reformed addicts are. What's saddest is that so many of us are happiest when we can be angry with someone. Many would rather have a reason to no like someone then to give a second chance.
