She's back!
Fresh off her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Janet Jackson has just dropped a new single.
The song is called Make Me and we like it. We don't LOVE it, there's nothing special about the song, but we do like it.
And, we applaud Janet for keeping at it!

I don't think this is a single. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to just be a gift to her fans… she's put a song on her site and not on her cd before just to give people a little something but the song wasnt even on the album.

Did everyone really think her performance was that great last night? I must be a jerk because I really thought her voice was awful. I give her credit for wanting to pay tribute in that way so soon after losing her brother but I'm not going to say she was awesome when I didn't think she was.
Eh. I mean its not painful to the ears. I have to say the little bass thing in the beat was annoying tho.

Ok I think its time for JJ to take a break. this song sucks and to drop it the day after her big, moving tribute is a bit contrived and lets not be stupid here, those things are well planned out so she used the opportunity to release her new song by lip syncing a tribute to her brother…. bad move~

Nice easy-pop song. It's fun, light and it's good that she's trying to make people laugh and dance after all that she's been through. It will grow in us, she'll make us move.

Totally reminds me of the All For You album. Not bad, but I'm having trouble believing this is gonna be a single. Just not what I'd expect from a Janet single…I mean, it's not even produced by Jermaine Dupri! At least it doesn't sound like it. Maybe it's just her giving us a little treat? I hope so, because I don't think it'll ever play on the radio. Just not catchy enough.

Love it! Perez, before judging a song after hearing it once or twice, give it a few plays before making a final judgment. You may be surprised as to how much you'll end up liking a song once it grows on you.

I like it more than I liked Madonna's "Celebration". There was definitely nothing special about that horrible song, and you plugged the hell out of that song Perez. You can definitely tell who pays you to promote them and who doesn't.

Madonna flys from God knows where to say something nice. She tries and people say nasty things..what is wrong with people. Janet is amazing. She built her career on good music not on MJ's back. I think people need to give people a break…remember what Madonna said every body is a human, they have feelings, they are people just like us…LIVE AND LET LIVE stop being so critical and enjoy music for the creation and art.

Janet has a catalogue of incredibly innovative music (for their time). I feel over the past 10 years her music has sounded too cluttered. It is too overproduced and lacks innovative hooks. She must hook up with a top producer, surrender herself a little bit and get out of the space outfits, deconstructed jeans and start tapping into new music because if she keeps going in this direction her career will never recover. That whisper of a voice shes been using needs to be replaced with something powerful- she has it in her so why keep mutting lyrics that are hard to even discern? Makeover, musically as well as image wise is needed BIG TIME. I do love and respect her I just want her to get back on top of the game.

It's mediocre. I miss old school Janet just like I miss old school Mariah. It's hard to believe Janet doesn't have a record label…she's Janet Jackson! I hope she keeps at it though, eventually she'll come up with something that'll stick.
Perez is right, the song is alright. It's likable but nothing that will stick out for very long after it is officially released. Forgettable but good at best, nothing special.
