Looks like American Idol "stole" Ellen DeGeneres from So You Think You Can Dance. But that's ok, because now SYTYCD is taking Paula Abdul!
Sorta.
At the Creative Arts Emmys this weekend, judge and executive producer of SYTYCD, Nigel Lythgoe, told reporters that the Idol folks had stolen Ellen from their show and now he was going to do the same, by having Paula on his show in the future.
Uh, Nigel, not to split hairs, but you can't really steal something when they gave it up in the first place. Just saying.
All joking aside, even though Ellen was a smash on her guest judge appearance on SYTYCD this season, Nigel "prefers" Paula, but has yet to announce when and if she is confirmed to be on the show.
Ah, nice to know you're still filled with a lot hot air Nigel.

Ok not to be rude cause I love your blog but just for fact purposes… Nigel Lythgoe is not only a judge on TV for SYTYCD but he is also a producer of American Idol. This sounds like someone just trying to strum up publicity for SYTYCD which as we all know has been gettin lower and lower in the rating with each season. Nygel probably doesn't care which show Ellen is on because he gets a paycheck from both.
Nigel is executive producer on both shows, that's publicity. He mentions Idol on SYTYCD
I didn't like Ellen judging on SYTYCD this summer, but I love her talk show.
I think Paula WOULD be great as a judge and a choreographer on SYTYCD and fans would totally embrace that. I love both shows and like Ellen for AI…it'd be a relief for all Paula's fans to know she landed in a good place where she's respected for her talent as well as her heart.
