A recent poll reveals that a WHOPPING 79% of Americans say they will watch Diane Sawyer when she goes head to head with Katie Couric (who got just 21% of the vote) in her new prime-time news gig at World's News.
This isn't good news for Katie, who's ratings already SUCK!

Katie is not stuck-up. I have met her.

Diane is also great. I watched Frost/Nixon and her character was one of Nixon's writer's/advisors. She's been around, knows the deal.

I was really surprised when I finally got around to watching the 60 Minutes tribute to Don Hewitt that they presented it as if Lesley Stahl were the only female correspondent. Where was Meredith Viera — the very first, who didn't last long in the Old Boys Network where she was looked down upon for nursing her baby(ies) at work — and that was years before she became famous again on The View and now on NBC's Today Show? Where was Diane Sawyer, the next female correspondent — who made her bones at 60 Minutes before moving on to ABC? And, WHERE WAS KATIE? Is CBS so insecure that they didn't dare share any acknowledgment with their future competition, Diane Sawyer, their other morning competition, Meredith, and do they think so little of Katie that they didn't want to tarnish 60 Minutes by confirming her connection to that show as well?

As for this poll, I cry foul because I'm sure the people they polled do not even watch the evening news.
I like both Katie and Diane, but I prefer Brian Williams for the evening news
Okay, since it's two women reaching the height of their professions it has to be all about a cat fight. Think about this. When Brian Williams was made anchor did anyone insult his intelligence by implying he would have a scratching fight with Charlie Gibson? That would be ridiculous and beneath both of them. Jeez pervez, Diane is not what she wants us to believe or the sweet picture she presents. She has alcohol problems because she's a sell-out. You can see her meanness often with her last snarky comments in any given instance. She should retire.
