Bea Arthur Dropped A C-Bomb!
We sure do miss Bea Arthur!
Last night, the world's favorite Golden Girl was remembered by friends and colleagues at an event in NYC called "Celebrating Bea Arthur".
Dozens of celebrities including Angela Lansbury, Rosie O'Donnell, Norman Lear, Adrienne Barbeau, Jerry Stiller, and of course, fellow Golden Girl, Rue McClanahan were in attendance.
Rue even gave a heartwarming speech depicting the character and grace of Bea, but also, she reminded everyone of Bea's best quality - her DIRTY mouth!
Rue recalled a time when her husband went and introduced himself to Bea at a party at Sardi's in NYC. Bea was sitting alone having a drink and when Rue's husband told her who he was, Bea replied:
"Rue, I love. Betty White's a cunt!"
Hah!
If you don't find that funny, you don't understand the genius that was Bea Arthur. There will never be another one like her!

i think people who dont like that show or never gave it the time of day just never got it. i am a 22 yr old girl, i was a baby when it was out, i dont really give a crap about old people (or thats what my generation usually says or acts like) but you have to give props when props are due. she was a great lady, very funny!

Before she got the spin off show Maude, she was so great on All in the Family. Carroll O'Connor and her were just magic together. I wasn't a fan of The Golden Girls when it was on but my husband was. I made fun of him for that and then watched a few and it was so fantastic. I could watch that all day. "And then there's Maude!!!!"
it's funny yes, in context and with timing, but it's not "genius." Dame Judi Dench did it better.
