      I so remember what happened to 50 cent and how pissed off he was. At the time, Evanescence was hugely popular, so they just went with them. I still think that 50 should be recognized-make a special catagory for him maybe? Also It's kinda rough putting some of the newer artists up against the newer ones, but Taylor Swift is much more popular w/ younger kids buying cds than Beyonce no offense, so that's why she won. Don't worry, Beyonce is a goddess and will be rewarded. But everyone deserves their time in the spotlight, even 50.

      Yuck: I am not racist, I am being factual–and since when…is it that giving out facts, is considered to be racist??? I am Black/White/Native American…and other, and I can tell you that if a black girl had as little talent as Taylor Swift, she never would have gotten a record contract. To be black, you have to be ten times better than your nearest competition…to get a quarter of the success…in most cases, that is the truth, a sad truth, but the truth nontheless!!! If you don't believe me, you go ahead and look-up Taylor Swift's video on You Tube–yes, the same video that she won her MTV Video Award over Beyonce for…and then look-up Beyonce's video, and compare the two. Honestly, reviewing the music, the performances, and the technical singing ability…therein, there is no way in Heaven, Hell, or on Earth, that you can honestly say that Taylor Swift had the better video, song, performance, or singing. So then why did she win that award, because she is white, that can be the only explanation for awarding lackluster talent, over someone who is technically brilliant…and BTW, I don't even like Beyonce or Kanye West, as individuals–so much for your racism theory.

      Re: Zip – I agree cuz taylor swift is good but she is not great but at the end of the day the VMA's are not just about who sings better or who is a better performer that VMA's are about who has the best videos out there and to have a good video you must have a combination of those two things. In my opinion neither Taylor Swift nor Beyonce should have won beacuse there was nothing special about either of their videos i think Pink or Katy Perry should have won!!! BUt Kanye still should not have done that!!

      Actually 50 cents is not a racist for standing up for Taylor Swift. It's not about race. It's about 'GREEN' paper! Kanye West last two albums were not ONLY better than his…but they outsold his albums! (For some of us who do not keep up with hip-hop). He is an opportunist. I give him credit though. The best way to re-vamp a failing rap career, is to ceate an new fan base (since urban consumers no longer buy your records)…is to create new fan base. Why not jump on the 'Bash Kanye Money Train?'

      What Kanye West did was inexcusable! Every single race will AGREE! But lets keep it honest! The VMA’s has a tendency to promote ‘bubble gum’ music. Kanye West was being REALISTIC! His actions were NOT driven BY RACE, but by OBSERVATION. How much exposure has Citizen Cope, Nine Inch Nails, or Coldplay has received on MTV?
      …And as for Taylor Swift, I really wish the media would stop classifying her as a minor. She is over 18 years of age. My opinion, although Kanye was a ‘douche’, she should have been the one to defend herself. Frightening little girl (my foot)!
      I will have to admit, I was disgusted by the way this was blown out of proportion. I have never heard so much racial remarks in my life. If Kanye is a ‘douche’…then label him a ‘douche.’ But the “go back to your ghetto’ and the “Communist/racist” comments made against him was completely uncalled for!
      And as for the THREE STOOGES (Pink, Kelly, and Katy), who are self-centered OPPORTUNISTS who rode the wave of fame…when BEYONCE clearly should have shined that night…considering she was the only REAL class act who saved Taylor that night….

      You should not be too harsh on 'Zip' for telling it the way it is! There are many talented rock groups that are also overshadowed by talentless "music-industry pop-tarts.' And I bet if you were to ask them, then they will agree with Kanye West!

      FYI…The rap world is not juvenile. Just the mainstream artists who get exposure on both BET and MTV. Common, Mos Def, Talib Kwelib, and The Roots (who use live instruments in their music), has garnered little media attention for not spreading ignorance like violence and berating women. But you know what? MTV does the EXACT same thing. I am also a fan of Citizen Cope and Nine Inch Nails…and I have yet to see MTV give them the exposure they deserve!…

      ..And about 50 cents, he is losing his urban audience, and is trying to create a new audience by using this opportunity to outshine Kanye. We all know Kanye has outshined 50 Cents in the last two albums that were put out by both parties!
