Universal Studios announced today the official opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park!
Coming in Spring 2010, you can visit the world of Harry Potter including Hogsmeade Station, Owlery, and of course, Hogwarts, which will be the new parks main attraction and is described as "much more than a roller coaster."
Look at some of the preliminary drawings and renderings of the park above.

Wow. Good marketing idea! The movie series is a classic already… like it or not. I am glad the kids will get to visit PotterLand and it will be a guilty pleasure for adults.

IM THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ive been in love with Harry Potter since i was 11 years old! im 21 now and this whole thing makes me feel like a kid again!! i had pretty sad childhood (like a lot of ppl) and Harry made me feel like I wasn't alone and for that he will always hold a very, very special place in my heart! i don't care how nerdy it is!! The only question is, how much are tickets?…a million dollars im sure!!

EEEEEEK!!!!! I was there in June and they just were getting things started on construction, but theres signs all around Dueling Dragons and the Jurrassic Park ride about Hogwarts castle being built. It looked like it was going to be MASSIVE. I hope us Potter fans aren't disappointed. 2010!!!

I'm so fucking excited I can't even tell you. My parents are taking me to Disney/Universal for my college graduation present this coming spring. This was the entire reason I wanted to take the trip in the first place! Honestly I've always felt like being inside Hogwarts/Hogsmeade would be a dream come true and I will be entirely in my element in this theme park. I've followed the development and it seems like it will be beyond amazing.

I suppose it's a good marketing idea but how are they going to stretch Harry Potter so far? How much of the film can be put into one park? Is it going to be big enough to spend an entire weekend there like the other theme parks? The good thing about Disney parks and Universal parks is that they can constantly update with new movies…. Harry Potter is coming to a close soon… I don't see this one lasting long.

It looks cool but it also looks like it could be kinda boring. It didn't look like there was much to do besides shop, eat, and take pictures. I love Harry Potter but I don't want to pay a ton to go to an amusment park with only a couple rides.

First off, UNIVERSAL ORLANDO announces, not Universal Studios. Secondly, it's a portion of Islands of Adventure that will be the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. They're calling it a 'Theme park within a theme park'. So don't worry about them incorporating all the movies. It's basically an additional 'themed' area of Islands of Adventure. But it's going to be AMAZING!

Since when was Ollivanders and the Owlery part of Hogsmeade? Clearly, Ollivanders is in Diagon Alley and the Owlery is at Hogwarts.

wow. you're really late one this one. they announced it back in 2008!!!! talk about late! the constructions began about 8 months ago and the regular guests at the park can see it. The kid that plays draco was in Universal a couple of weeks ago…good job again on the delayed news.
