HOW CUTE!! I know Katherine Heigl was VERY upset when she found out Children with Special Needs were OUT OF STOCK here in the United States. Thankfully, South Korea had one. Maybe next time they will adopt from the pool of consumers who buy her movie tickets etc. BTW; I like the photos, will they appear in OUT OF FOCUS monthly?

Would people STOP saying they NEED to adopt from AMERICA. First of all, that is just selfish. People can help others from many different countries. And Katherine even said she is adopting from Korea because HER SISTER WAS ADOPTED FROM KOREA.

Beautiful baby. However, why is the Asian baby preferred over Black or Latino babies amongst White people? What? Orphaned babies of color in this country aren't good enough for you White folks? Love the Sex in the City movie but hated the fact that Charlotte's character adopted an Asian girl from another country as opposed to getting a baby of color here. I guess the old saying still stands. The Asian baby (amongst White folks) is still the new Prada bag!

i do totally agree with all the comments about apopting children in the u.s because they need good homes as well..but i also know that her sister was adopted form korea and that she always felt a connection there and wanted to give a korean child the same opportunity her parents gave her sister

For those people who are being rude about this wonderful adoption, not too many people are willing to adopt a child with special needs. Adopting a baby from korea was something she always wanted to do being that he sister was adopted from korea.
Give them credit, they are doing a wonderful thing.

Isnt it better for them to release the first pictures so people are competing to get the first one? instead of bashing people for doing a good thing just because they are celebs, realize they are people too and think about what you could do for the world instead.

If you weren't such ignorant assholes you would know that orphans in many other countries live in appalling conditions with absolutely no chance of local adoption. No education. No hope for a future. We live in a very privileged country – we have the means to take care of our own.
In many cases these kids are orphaned because they're parents have died from disease, can't afford to keep them, have been killed in conflict… NOT because their parents chose a crack pipe or needle over their kids' welfare.
Maybe you should actually TRAVEL and see some of this world before you comment, then maybe you'll open your heart a bit.

I stand by my comment. So, Katherine Heigl's White Parents adopted her sister from Korea. Again, the White folks (her parents) viewing Asian babies the "ideal minority" (look up the concept of ideal minority and you'll understand why I made the point that I made; learned it in grad school at Columbia and stand by its relevance).

If you are of color, you should support our communities "unhealthy" babies being adopted. If you're not of color, then let me say that as a man of color, it's disheartening how much White folks invest thousands (sometimes tens of thousands of dollars) in adopting an Asian baby from another country rather than giving a little American Boy or American girl a chance. I'm not stating that Black or Latino babies are better than Asians. I'm pointing out how much money, time, and investment White folks are willing to put themselves through rather than seeing that a Black or Latino baby as being just as lovable and precious as an Asian child.
