Fans of this year's crowned American Idol winner can now hear 23 seconds of Kris Allen's rumored debut single, a cover of The Script’s Live Like We’re Dying.

So the WINNER of American Idol releases a COVER of someone elses song as his first single after spending a year singing COVERS on the show? This is not what Kris Allen's sound. This is The Script's sound.

Dumb lame move that will probably sell. I hope The Script gets royalties.

My thought is: how did this guy win over Adam Lambert?? OK voice but Adam Lambert is awesome.
I like Kris but he pales in talent to Adam.

Song is alright…but I keep picturing that weird face he makes when he sings, and then I find myself turned off again. He's a nice enough guy with a pretty decent voice and I wish him the best of luck.

As a side note…Adam should have one, but oh well.

It sounds like a karoake cover of The Script's original recording. I love The Script — so if you like this, check out the real thing. They are terrific — 3 guys from Ireland, and their song "We Cry" is just amazing.

The song that Kris Allen is releasing as a single, has not been released by The Script in the US. Live Like We're Dying is not on the current album by The Script.
So, if it is a big hit for Kris, it can only help break The Script in the U.S.
Since Sony M.E. is associating The Script with David Cook and Kris Allen, they are obviously hoping to mine the AI fanbase for The Script, which seems smart to me.

i was really happy when kris won americal idol… but i am very dissapointed that his single is a cover of my fav band "the script". why does he need to cover something? it is time to leave american idol aside and come up with something on his own. the script is an amazing irish band that is trying to make it in the business and i am very upset that he would make one of their songs into his first single.

Fans of The Script should be happy that Kris Allen is covering their song. They get paid for every single or album that Kris sells.
The song didn't fit with the other songs on their album, so they made it available to another artist. They want the song to be heard, and I am sure they like to be paid. It is a win/win for them.

The Script's version is better, but hey, it's a testament to how good their songs are that he wanted to cover it, nothing to get worried about.

Some sneaky sis (or bro!) took a little behind-the-scenes video of Madonna's MDNA tour rehearsal in Tel Aviv this weekend and has shared some incredible footage!

Part of Madge's setlist is her iconic homage to self-love, Express Yourself, but in her 2012 version, she is spicing it up by mashing it with Lady GaGa's similar anthem, Born This Way.
