Janet Talks VMA MJ Tribute

We think it was the most befitting tribute to Michael Jackson yet.
We liked Janet Jackson's performance of Scream at the VMAs this past Sunday so much that we were glad to hear that Janet also enjoyed the performance. After the performance, she revealed:
"This is the most fun — from my mouth to God's ears — the most fun I have ever had working on a project for TV."
We're so glad to hear it!

I cried. Mostly because the idea of performing with my brother post-mortem is terrifying. I love my bro, I can't imagine what she must be going through. Ahh, heart wrenching. I was also stoned when I watched it… which is probably a contributing factor.
It was such an amazing performance! Deffo did her family proud!

the tribute was amazing!i got goosebumps when i saw it, i felt as if michael was right there with her
VERY cool! I really enjoyed it. Reminded me of several years back watching Natalie Cole "perform with" Nat King Cole. Very touching tribute in both cases.

IT SUCKED… the whole thing was super lame. she lip synched the whole time. and she obviously cant dance as well as she did in the video so she shouldnt have even tried.

I'm not a huge fan of either Jacksons, but I imagine that had to be emotionally hard for her and I think it was a very nice tribute she did for her brother! Kudo's Janet

Janet really sucked, imo. It was very bad.
I think that Madonna did a great job with speech. I really liked that she was very honest about their relationship; it was very real and touching.
Considering all the hoopla promoting it….it was too short….thought it would be a little more….but it was nice……….

I loved the tribute with the dancers doing Thriller, Billie Jean, and Smooth Criminal. However, once Janet came out, it was anti-climatic. I am surprised she said she had so much fun because she looked miserable the whole time she was on stage.
WOW…the ignorance on here. I would love to know how old some of you are, and what country your ignorance branches from. Those who judge the hardest have the most to hide and to be ashamed of.

She was on stage for two seconds. She did not do the show the other dancers did.

I'm a HUUUGGE Janet Jackson fan, was a little let down that we only got to see her at the end of the Tribute. Would have been cool to see her participate in Bad, Thriller, Smooth Criminal. But, its hard enough doing a tribute to her deceased Big Bro who was probably a hero to her. Recreating Scream was great, wish it went a little longer and I am mixed about her outfit. Hopefully, JANET's BACK!

the dancers were a reminder of how great MJ really was. Wish the tribute would have included more heartfelt pics of MJ through the years instead of MJ impersonators.
I loved her performance ! michael wouldve been verry proud ! the best part was when she got faded out the video and michael and her was dancing side by side again ! So touching . I love the Jackson's ( Michael and Janet that is )

She was great…. I hated all the other dancers though, thought it was tacky until Janet danced.
Even though it was shocking to see Madonna show emotion…Janet's performance had me crying. I didn't even enjoy Jackon's music all that much, but towards the end when she was matching her brother's moves, the emotion she was conveying was incredibly potent.
It was so fucking hurting!!!! She could have SANG! WTF???? She looked like shit too!

I don't think Janet did much of a tribute - BUT - the dancers in the beginning that came on before her were AMAZING! Her voice sounded horrible.

She did a really great job. I thought it was a really touching tribute, and she didn't try to take all the spotlight away from Michael, hence she waited until the end to perform. The Scream video was really ahead of its time…. RIP Michael.
I knew she slipped a bit in her performance but I was hoping she enjoyed it. Great tribute! Wish she and Madonna could do a tribute a day! LOVE MJ!!!

In my opinion, she did good. It would have been hard for her to give 'the old Janet' kind of performance. Janet is known for perfection and it had to have understandably been difficult to be perfect that night; every one was watching to see if she could mentally handle that so soon. She handled herself with as much strength that could be expected and did great. She had her chance to dance with him once again, and that is priceless.
She did a great job, my pregnant ass was crying the whole time.
Janet was great buttttttt, seeing Michael dance in the back made me realize that Michael really was the best dancer everrr, his moves are so smooth compared to her, she even skipt one difficult part if you look good
Oh and I think she didn't get much time compared to Madonna, Madonna's speech was touching(a litlle bit self absorbing in the beginning and 2 long)

She did an amazing job. She looks fantastic. Can you believe she has no record label? How can no one want Janet Jackson?
It wasnt horrible, but I really didnt like it as much as I thought I would. I guess the important thing is, is that Janet liked it and and a good time. It just…the whole thing was a lot smaller scale and a lot shorter in time than I thought it was gonna be. I thought there would've been more "through the years" photos on the big screen, and/or clips of artists saying how Michael inspired them. I thought it was ok, but when it was over I said to myself, "Thats it? A tribute to Michael Jackson and thats it?!?!" I thought Madonna's speech was better than the rest of it. Everyone built it up to be this big "omg Janets doing a tribute to michael on the vma's" thing…then she was only in it for a minute, and all the other dancers did more than she did. I thought to live up to the hype it got, she should have AT LEAST been in it from beginning to end. I dunno….I just expected a lot more out of a tribute to Michael Jackson. Like I said it wasnt horrible, I just expected it to be longer, more touching, more visual….just MORE. Im tempted to even say, "What tribute at the VMA's?".

Oh People need to STFU on here. She did not lip-synched if you watch it over and over again you will see that she didn't IDIOTS, when has Janet lip-synched in her life??? It was a short performance, I agree but I understand that the night was for Michael and they are both Superstars in their own right and people paid more attention to him than the back-up dancers on it when it was aired, but if she had dance throughout the entire tribute, people would find it hard to focus on both of them, plus I would think that Janet doesn't normally dance to Michael's moves, so she would have to learn all that in a short period when she is mourning and knowing that she is also a perfectionist at heart. Madonna speech was not self-absorbed people, get a grip. Yes Janet did not do a challenging part in the dance but so did some of the other choreographers - go to YouTube to see different angles LIVE by someone who was at the VMA's, I believe only 3 of them did the spin, one who is M.J.'s choreographer throughout his career etc. I can't wait to see the making of it. Just leave her alone.

Janet's performance was amazing!!!! even though it was too short, that was the highlight of the show for me. Anyone hating on Janet's performance or mentioning Madonna's speech which I might add was not that moving needs 2 get a life. Janet did her brother proud!!!!!!!
