Suzanne Somers' Controversial Remarks About Patrick Swayze's Death!

After the tragic passing of Patrick Swayze, many stars have been opening up about their cherished memories of the late actor.
However, Suzanne Somers, in a controversial move, is criticizing Swayze's cancer treatments, saying that it was the chemotherapy that caused his death.
A known advocate of alternative health methods, Somers is reported as saying:
"They took a beautiful man and put poison in his body. Why couldn't they have built him up nutritionally and gotten rid of the toxins? I hate to be controversial…but I have to speak out."
While Suzanne probably meant well, especially as a survivor of breast cancer, we're not sure if a comment like this should have been released.
Chemotherapy has been known to save many lives and pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of the disease. Patrick fought his illness bravely for a long time and comments like these could be hurtful to his grieving loved ones.
We kinda think she should have shut her trap!
What do U think?

The fact that he lived for over 20 months after his diagnosis speaks volumes for his treatment. Most patients don't last a 1/4 of that time. Once my MIL found she had she only lasted 4 months, when they gave her 6. Suzanne should really keep her comments to herself.
Suzanne Somers is one of those hippie kooks who is all about living well and well living. Hello, Hippie, that might work for some situations, but not everyones. I didn't realize that she had a medical degree, or even a liscense to practice holistic healing?
chemo is a mean thing
I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH HER.. OUR WORLD IS BRAINWASHED WITH PEOPLE THINKING MEDICINE IS THE ANSWER…TO SOME DEGREE IT IS BUT RAW VEGAN SUPERFOODS AND EATING HEALTHY COULD HAVE REALLY HELPED
Give her a break. What she says is at least partly true. We have been brainwashed into thing that the fda and doctors know the best. They are all "run" by big pharm companies where the bottom line is the most important thing to them. NO, your health is not the most important thing to them!!!! If you think that, then you need to educate yourself! If we found a cure for cancer (say it's a plant you find in the wild), and other diseases, where would drug companies go? They would go bankrupt!!! No more money for them. They are not interested in looking for a cure, or even offering one. Their main goal is to make MONEY! Educate yourselves, everybody!!!
Re: jacjos – He lived for over 20 months, but did you ever think that if he hadn't taken chemo and tried something more natural, that he could have lived for longer than 20 months???
she must not have seen pancreatic cancer's prognosis. about less than 4% have a survival rate of more than 5 years. what else can they do??? yes, there poison, but that's what chemotherapy is. it's called a treatment. it's very difficult on the body, but i think its safe to say that so its cancer. "buiding him up nutritionally" (what does she mean by that??) isn't going to do anything. so sad. she should keep her mouth shut if she doesn't know what she's talking about
I HAD CHEMO WHEN I WAS FIFTEEN FOR A VERY DEADLY BONE CANCER. I'M 20 NOW AND HEALTHY. WHO IS THIS BITCH AND WTF IS SHE TALKIN BOUTS?
what an IDIOT. you can't just change your diet and expect to shed a disease. you can't flush it out! it's CANCER not a hangover… dumb bitch
Somers is right on! People are stupid victims to take chemo, radiation and drugs. Wake up, people, There are other ways to fight cancer! Sheeple deserve what they get if they refuse to education themselves.
Good for Suzanne. Chemo is huge business, and regulations make many alternate treatments illegal. This is for the protection of the medical and pharmaceutical establishment, not for the protection of the patient.
.
I'm not against chemotherapy, but it should not be treated as the gold standard of cancer treatment. We need much more open discussion about the harm chemotherapy can do and more medical freedom so that alternate treatments are allowed to compete. If we had this freedom, I believe we would have found a cure for cancer by now.
