American Idol alum David Archuleta took home an award at the Latino-centric ALMA Awards in Los Angeles and (more importantly) he performed a beautiful, stripped down version of Contigo En La Distancia, a song most closely associated with Luis Miguel.
Archie did amazing amazing job with the song!

Jeez pervez, he could have quite a career here in Mexico, but there is only one Luis. I like the music here in Mexico quite a bit more than all of that electronic autotune crap you promote. How's the tour going? Aren't you afraid of an outbreak of Swine Flu spreading through the large crowds?
Re: tranceman1 – david's been on his own for most of this year while touring and doing appearances like these. although at this one, his mom was there since she's honduran and i'm sure it was meaningful for her to be there.

I like Archie and thought he did a nice job, but he is NO Luis Miguel! Luismi's voice is one of a kind, he can sing anything. He brought this time of music to a new generation in the early 90's, and we're still listening to him.
it was a great performance! ppl need to quit complaining. if you don't like it… then don't watch it. Plain and Simple.

David A. should have won American Idol, but I am SOOOOO happy he did not. He is too good. Idol would have ruined his career just like they have with all the rest of the winners. (except Kelly and Carrie).

I'm not a fan of Luis Miguel but I'm not a stranger to the song. David's Spanish is much better than I thought and he gave a pretty good performance.
he did his thing. very good. he blended luis' version and christina aguilera's version..
