Gyllenhaal Gets A Gig On TV
Maggie Gyllenhaal that is.
It seems the less appealing Gyllenhaal sibling has got herself a new job. Gyllenhaal will be hosting the upcoming 2009/2010 season of the PBS Emmy Award-winning series Independent Lens.
Independent Lens showcases films, documents, mini-series and more created by many independent filmmakers.
Former hosts of the series include Edie Falco, Angela Bassett, and Susan Sarandon.
Gyllenhaal claims, “I'm a passionate believer in the power of independent film. Independent Lens filmmakers ignore the rules and spend years pursuing diverse stories about people not normally seen on TV. I am truly honored to present their work as the new host of Independent Lens."
This season is set to include 27 independent films and will premiere on October 13th.
Somehow we doubt people will tune in just to see her, but at least she got some extra work to add to her resume.
