Sugababes Drama! Keisha Has Split From The Band!
After some internal turmoil with the band, Keisha Buchanan is no longer a member of Sugababes and will pursue a solo career.
This is the announcement made on their official website:
The current line-up of the Sugababes has disbanded.
Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album ‘Sweet 7’ on November 23rd through Island Records.
Keisha Buchanan will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist.
Then, Keisha took to her Twitter to explain the deets in her own words:
Dear Friends I'm sad to say that I am no longer apart of the Sugababes.
I've had a great time and have achieved more then I ever thought I would. Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life. I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck. I would like to state that there were no arguments, bullying or anything of the sort that lead to this.
Sometimes a break down in communication and lack of trust can result in many different things. I would also like to point out that I have always supported the girls and they have also supported me. Remember my drunk pictures out with Amelle, supporting her on her success with Tinchy Stryder… Oh the shame… But what a fun night we had. Now I'm going to take some time to focus on me. I've been in this band for 11 years and I have achieved so much. I have a great family and friends who are behind me 100% and at the age of 24, I'm now going out into this world on my own…
Although im nervous… I'm still very excited on what lies ahead. :-) I want to thank the Sugababes fans and my fans for all your support and all who have never judged me, but excepted me for who I am… The feisty, funny, professional, fearless, motor mouth… lol
This is not the end… but the beginning!!!!

Geez, these girls are like the British Destiny's Child, the line-up keeps changing! The group is still called Sugababes but it has none of its original members anymore! Weird. Personnally I lost all interest in the band after Mutya Buena left.
So again, you are never breaking any news…you're just cutting and pasting from their website…or E-News Daily, or "People" etc… Boring.
This band has had so many line up changes. I'm suprised Keishas the one to go as she co-founded the band when she was 13 and has been in it since then. There were rumours Amelle would be leaving, but glad she hasn't. But none of the ORIGINAL members are left so it feels a bit weird. Keishas well known for being the 'bully' of the band. BUT JADE EWEN?!!? WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING! She was in Eurovision and the violinist hit her on the head for christ sakes! Could have at least got a better replacement.

I think that by age 24 a person should know how to spell (i.e… it's "accepted" NOT "excepted". Maybe she should have spend a little more time in school.
The Sugababes without Keisha means they are over. She was the only original member left. At this point Amelie and Heidi should call the band something else if they plan to bring in another member. What the fuck is the point of them going on with the same name when none of the original members are in the picture anymore.
I wonder if Keisha finally understands how Mutya felt…especially being replaced so quickly!
Just so weird as none of them are the original girls are left!? This is probably the begining of the end for these girls…

That's a shame, she was the only one I really liked. I dont really like the sugababes that much now but when I was a child I did, I think I'd rather they just disbanded altogether than changed the line up.

I agree she's majorly talented and has an amazing voice but she lacks star quality to me. That, in my oppinion, was always the Sugababes problem from the beginning. They always seemed D list to me. Perhaps that was their charm at first, vocally talented girls who seemed rejects until you heard their strong voice and commanded attention. Unfortunately the power and energy in their music NEVER was captured in their live performances which were so dull they could put a baby to sleep.
I wonder what makes Keisha think she has a chance at a solo career. Mutya was raved so much and flopped majorly. And Keisha was always much less entertaining than Mutya. I bet the one having the laught now is Siobhan….the first to get booted out and the only to manage a solo career.

i honestly wish i were dead, they are my favourite girl group in history, with keisha in the lineup! i will continue to support the sugbabaes and i will also be supporting and showing love for keisha always!!

Wow!!! All I can say is what backstabbing bitches Heidi + Amelle are!!!! Reports are that they both new that she was gonna be kicked out and were all sweetness + light to Keishas face, whilst auditioning new members + re-recording their album again!!!! What an absolute blow to Keisha this must all be…………………..she must be extreamly dissapointed with Heidi who surely after all these years in Sugarbabes together must have thought a good trustworthy friend. I still love the Sugababes, but the group won't be the same without Keisha. I also like Mutya's ghetto homegirl-ish persona in the group too. I do love the song "Get Sexy". If anyone wants to hear their music, their best album is "Taller In More Ways".

I'm glad she is gone. She was a control freak and needed to go. Jade has a better voice and this is a new era for the group as they are on a new label now. I'm excited.

First off… the Sugababes would have been nothing without Keisha. She is an amazingly talented young lady, and now at 24…she is going to have the world at her fingertips. The only thing those girls were doing for her was holding her back. Amelie and Heidie are a joke. I cannot even believe they think they have a chance at succeeding without Keisha. Its funny because she is the only one who knows how to write, and really the strongest member without a doubt. They are going to crash and burn…and deservingly so. the sugababes have been my fav girlgroup for quite some time but i clearly lost interest after mutya left - didn't quite feel the next album & decided against buying it. so keisha leaving is just another step down in my eyes.
as i'm from germany, i might not get as much press on the babes like folks in the u.k., but the original sugababes-feeling is definitely lost on me since mutya, even though i like heidi quite a lot.
they are no more sugarbabes….she was the only original one left….why they do nota change the name…singer=picture card??????

For the not-knowers the original line-up of the sugababes in 2000 was probably the best girl group UK has ever known musically, teen girls with wisdom and senses far beyond their ages, smart urban music with an indie touch. They haven't stopped going down since that

Erm…Keisha was the only original Sugababe left in the trainwreck of a line up. First Siobhan left after Overload (their best), so they brought along Heidi (who I think is the problem not Keisha) then Mutya called it a day to follow a pretty unpromoted solo career. She ended up on Celeb Big Brother and lost to Verne Troyer (whose crash into the diary room door was classical BB). Keisha replaces Mutya with Rhianna wannabe Amelle who went ahead with a 'solo' career before head honcho Keisha. Amelle had it coming but to fully stick the knife in, Keisha would do well to reform the original lineup with Mutya and Siobhan and start again. They're the original Sugababes not these new sexed up whores.
