According to insiders, ABC is abuzz with the decision of who is going to replace Regis Philbin on his morning show with Kelly Ripa. The talk show vet reportedly plans on tackling 2 more years besides Kelly until retirement.
And the first choice to replace him?
None other than the silver fox - Mr. Anderson Cooper!

As much as I Love Regis I would watch Anderson in a heartbeat. He is a great fill-in when Regis is gone, so sweet and smart, what a perfect combination and he isn't bad to look at either!!

NO! i love anderson, but as a repoprter. He is too serious of a person for this show. Regis and Kelly is a lighthearted fun filled show and he travels around the world and exposes it. He is great and i love him. but not right for this show!

I think Regis is very overrated besides he seldom pays respect to what Kelly says in the show and completely ignores her at times, he thinks he is the only one in the show and Kelly is just a tag along. He should learn something from Mike from "Mike and Juliet" show.

Bah, Anderson Cooper is a tool. They should just pack up the show for good and move on when Regis retires; no one could replace him (unlike Kathy Lee).

As much as I don't care for Philbin, he is an Arrogant and Condescending Ass, they should pull the plug. Bishop's side kick found his niche with show late in his life and left his mark on it. It's not the Tonite Show with revolving host's and a main stream National Audience that really don't care who's on. It's a local NYC AM Program that the retired crowd likes because of Philban's age and long ago stories.
I LOVE ANDERSON COOPER!!!! But he is a real new reporter not some hack for stay at home moms to oggle!

Anderson and Kelly have great chemistry when they're on together. The opening host segment is always a riot to watch when Anderson Cooper is on. I really do hope he does this, he's always one of the best guest hosts when they have him.

Regis is 78 years old. His grandchild lives in CA. His wife, Joy, is from CA. I think they both would like to spend the winters in CA.
I think Anderson could do this show and his present show. He has done both many times. He is Kelly's favorite guest co- host.
Re: insertsobriquet – Mark has said he will not replace Regis. Mark said he does not want to be blamed for that show being canceled one day. The chemistry works because Regis and Kelly do not talk before the show and when they chat neither know what the other has to offer. If Mark did the show, it would not work as Mark lives with Kelly. It is boring when Mark is a guest host.

I like AC and I wish he was starting right away. Regis is getting old, senile and is out of touch with what is going on in todays entertainment.

My favorite episodes is when Kelly Ripa ISN'T around, I'm sorry, I liked her at first, but I just think she tries WAY too hard. But anyway, Anderson Cooper? Oh yes I would definitely watch, he's like 7 types of delicious-ness.
Excellent Choice… Kelly has great chemistry with other fill-in's like Jeff Probst, Pat Sajak and her husband Mark.. but Anderson brings so much life to that show….. I really hope this is true
