Mackenzie's Other Stepmother, Michelle Phillips, Speaks Out Too!
After Mackenzie Phillips' shocking accusations regarding a 10-year long incestuous affair with her father, stepmom Michelle Phillips, is speaking out to dismiss her claims!
The ex-wife of the late John Phillips claims that Mackenzie told everyone in their extended family about their sexual relationship in 1997, but claimed she was joking.
Michelle states, “She told me, then she called me back and said, ‘You know I’m joking,’ I said it wasn’t funny. Mackenzie said, ‘I guess we have different senses of humor.’”
WTF?!
In her book, Mackenzie writes, “My father abused me but he wasn’t a monster. He was a tortured man who led a tortured existence.” She claims that she waited until now to come out with it because she didn’t want to wreck his legacy.
And Michelle is pissed!
Her response:
“She’s really protecting his legacy now, isn’t she?”
“John was a bad parent, and a drug addict. But [expletive deleted] his daughter? If she thinks it’s true, why isn’t she with a good psychiatrist on a couch? I think it’s unconscionable that Oprah would let her do her show. I have every reason to believe it’s untrue. Oprah should be more judicious about who she has on her show.”
"Mackenzie has a lot of mental illness. She’s had a needle stuck up her arm for 35 years. She was arrested for heroin and coke just recently. She did ‘Celebrity Rehab’ and now she writes a book. The whole thing is timed.”
“Mackenzie is jealous of her siblings, who have accomplished a lot and did not become drug addicts.”
It looks like someone is taking the stereotypical, evil stepmother role pretty seriously!
This is such a terrible, gut-wrenching confession that we can't imagine doing it for attention! If it was not true, she would need more help than we can fathom.

Family often refuse to believe reports of sexual abuse. Seen it over and over in my experience. The victim is degraded as the perp is protected. One of the reasons victims keep the info to themselves and the abuse continues. I have no doubt Mac is telling the truth.

I think, considering the role that Hollywood has taken on, airing every piece of dirty laundry you can come up with and staging your lives for the cameras for as much press as you can muster. I take this with a grain of salt. Look at the source for God's sake. She has been a drug addict for more years then we can count and her career in Hollywood has completely and utterly tanked. When you reach that low, how else can you make press? Think of the most awful thing imaginable and stick it in a book! Wow, that would do it right? Look at her now, we are all talking about it and she has gotten her air time.
It is a sad situation, if it is true, I feel for her, but feel that she should be talking to a "professional" and not airing her dirty laundry for all to see. If it is not true, then again, I feel sad for her, to be that low in life and need attention so badly as to defile your own father to get press.
