    Go Science!

  2. 2

You insert the needle in your dick. It hurts so bad you never want to butt fuck again. Great cure.

  3. 3

…this is promising news, but Perez, make it clear that safe sex always is in need. You don't want people, straight, gay, bi or otherwise to think that they no longer have to be careful and responsible. Thank you.

  4. 4

this kills millions of people a year! this is a great advance in science

  5. 5

Be careful about what you post. A cure is not the same as a vaccine.

  6. 6

It was developed by a Canadian too!! :)

  7. 7

    found out yesterday

  8. 8

    awesome

  9. 9

That is the most amazing thing I've ever heard. Any step in the right direction is amazing for the world.

  10. 10

That's awesome! Now get one for Herpes and whatever else I don't want to catch.

  11. 11

yay! have as much unprotected sex as you want you nasty bastards!

  12. 12

    Be safe!
    Pray for a cure.
    Hopeful news.

  13. 13

Yay Science !!! I hope it reaaly works out well

  18. 18

Thank you sooo much scientists/doctors!! This is fantastic news! Next up, cancer, let's hope!

  19. 19

31% success rate, i would not call it a vaccine, rather promising

    20

HIV is now several strains strong, this is misleading at best,

  21. 21

Re: bongo – really? still assuming that AIDS is a "gay" disease? WRONG.

  22. 22

Re: Mad About Mad MenRe: g.babyl0c805 – …I just don't want anyone to be mislead, even the old coots in FLA who are testing positive in their 'golden years'.

  23. 23

Ignore comments by homophobic asshats. Not everyone who gets AIDS is homosexual, and who cares if they are homosexual? This would be a wonderful thing.

  24. 24

Re: PerezTheBlogNazi – my aunt had a husband and was married for 5 years, he cheated on her and then gave her herpes! dont be so ignorant!!!

  25. 25

    awesomeee

  26. 26

never is too strong a word.

the world will be a different place in less than 50 years… technology coming up people will not even realize.

  27. 27

    good news for you

  28. 28

Yes, this is only possible because of the hard work of pharmaceutical companies. Maybe people should stop being so critical of them.

  29. 29

It is highly promising, but folks, that doesn't mean you can lose the condoms just yet - only worked 30% or so of the time per this a.m. news. Still, that's a start - but same report said AIDS is nefarious for being able to mutate quickly, so this is not a done deal yet.

  30. 30

    good, send it to africa

  31. 31

Re: PhTProf – VERY good that you pointed this out. This is not a cure ~ this is a vaccine. Again, just pleading with folks to "keep putting the funny hat on the Pope," so to speak.

  32. 32

Thats awsome I hope they can figure it out. It would be nice if they could find one for cancer too but one step at a time I know.

  33. 33

Re: Blind Baby – why is it good news for him?

  34. 34

If you read the entire article and look closely at how they came up with the numbers, the differences between the control and vaccine groups are statistically irrelevant. Of course we all want a vaccine that works, but this was a waste of $105 million dollars.

  35. 35

What is sad is all of the test subjects in developing countries affected by these vaccine trials. In the previous trial in this project also done in Thailand, the vaccine actually increased their odds of contracting HIV.

But still, this is so exciting for the world!

  36. 36

    Re: bongo – youre ignorant

  37. 37

I still don't udnerstand why we can't find a cure for this shit, it's ridiculous!

  38. 38

Re: willie2states – What ever you say Troy Polamalu

  39. 39

Re: sleezy*e – for Perez? Bad news for us that he has a cure now for his poop disease

  40. 40

Jeeesh… you are such lamentable, brainwashed retards, you all… they had spread HIV with vaccinations against hepatitis B… you stupid, miserable, brainded animals, you.

  41. 41

yellow peeps, you are a retard. YOU can cure your own cancer as soon as you figure out what caused it. you stupid. stupid.

  42. 42

Hopefully it isn't some decoy to inject people with other toxins that will make them sick or eventually kill them. And hopefully it doesn't inject some i.d. crap into you either….I wouldn't get my hopes up until we see the long term side effects. Funny how they are coming out with all of these new vaccines…. Guardasil…H1N1, regular Flu, now this.. what's next??

  43. 43

This is an injection that MIGHT possibly prevent the uninfected from becoming infected. This is not a cure. HIV and AIDS are perfect examples of why people should not have anonymous sex. Know your partner! Just because a stranger tells you they have no STDs or HIV, doesn't mean they aren't lying. Be smart and informed about your sex life. Not everything is curable with just a shot!

  44. 44

Did anyone read this entire article? The people who were given the vaccine were NOT infected with AIDS. They were given condoms and sent back onto the streets. There is absolutely NO proof that any of the people who were lucky enough to not contract HIV even came into contact with the virus.
Don't get me wrong, a step in the right direction, but definatly not what they are making it out to be. We don't know if the vaccines prevented the virus, or if good judgement did…..

  45. 45

Re: karencarpenter – ditto, well said :)

  46. LDD says – reply to this

    46

YAY!!! now more people can have anal sex without protection because there is a VACCINE!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!

    god.

  47. 47

Yay! Everyone can have casual, meaningless sex now as long as they are not concerned with the other stds.
    haha.

  48. Mada says – reply to this

    48

I read the article on CNN and it says, "He [Colonel Jerome Kim] cautioned that a lot more research was necessary, because the vaccine did not prevent everyone from being infected. Fifty-one people in the vaccine group eventually contracted HIV, compared with 74 in the placebo group."

My question is what kind of people do they find to sign up for this type of testing? High risk people such as prostitutes and/or needle drug users? You don't do testing like this on people who don't do drugs (sharing needles), married couples, or couples in steady monogamous relationships. So, how did some leave w/out HIV and later return with it? Did they inject them with the virus then the vaccine? Scary!

  49. 49

I can't wait to have unprotected sex with everyone!!!! We'll do a giant condom autodefé

  50. 50

    Re: MalibuSunrise – okay, crazy.

  51. 51

Re: littledollsland – why the aliens are coming?

  52. 52

Re: LDD – you do realize AIDS isn't just contracted via anal sex, don't you?
Jesus Christ, how can people be so monumentally stupid?

  53. 53

Re: Mada – No, they don't inject people with HIV afterwards. That obviously wouldn't be allowed. They find individuals who are at high risk - in a relationship with someone who has HIV, has multiple partners, drug users, etc. There are many people who volunteer for science that aren't necessarily drug users though.
Participants are free to live their life, so if they are in high risk situations they could defintely come back with the virus - what about that don't you understand?

  54. 54

Re: hotmamajo – Obviously they weren't infected with AIDS (and I think you mean HIV when you write that) or they wouldn't have been given a vaccine AGAINST HIV. The study was a breakthrough in HIV/AIDS reserach, not a cure, not a vaccine that would be mass distributed, but a step in the right direction.
Usually participants are chosen depending on their risk levels, so the chance that they come into contact with the virus is fairly high. Obviously you can't follow around thousands of people and check if they're being exposed to HIV.

  55. 55

AIDS is preventable. Risky behavior causes AIDS.

  56. 56

Re: elo – The vaccine would have been designed to protect against many strains of the virus, especially those that are most prevalent in the region the study was conducted. No vaccine is made to protect against one strain of virus, not even the flu vaccine.

  57. 57

A HIV vaccine is fantastic news and an urgency for Africa. There is also a vaccine for Alzheimer! I hope both of these are sold and functional within 5 years.

  58. 58

So exciting to get all the important gossip and science news! Next thing you know, you'll be getting a Nobel Peace Prize!!!! Thanks Big P!

  59. 59

AIDS is a medical fraud. HIV has never been isolated… the "tests" aren't even approved by the FDA(no shit, check it out yourself), and the reason there is no real vaccine is because they're looking in the wrong place. It's a disease in search of a virus. One day, this will all be looked at as one of the biggest mistakes in medical history. QUESTION AIDS! Aliveandwell.org

  60. 60

    That's awesome. Cancer Next?

  61. 61

this is great,my uncle has HIV well done science!

  62. 62

re: curtisbeirie. I visited your site and couldn't find any research to back up the claims made by this organization. Empirically based research that is.

  63. 63

Re: waller – LOL try the U.S. Defense Department and CDC. So no, I will continue to criticize them.

  64. 64

In the meantime perez, you had better be wearing at least 5 condoms at a time.

  65. 65

A real, working vaccine is imminent!

NO IT IS NOT- NOT YET… THIS IS JUST A GLIMPSE OF A MAYBE, IN A DECADE, BUT IN NO WAY EXPLAINS HOW THE OTHER TWO THIRDS ON SAME VACCINE WENT AND GOT REALLY BAD HIV/AIDS….. WORSE I FACT THAT THOSE WHO WERE O PLACEBOS.
DO NOT GIVE OUT FALSE SCIENCE ON A GOSSIP SHITHOLE.

  66. 66

2 out of 3 homos aint bad!
