Jessica Biel To Climb Mount Kilimanjaro!

Whoa!

Well, girlfriend is athletic!

Jessica Biel, along with rapper Lupe Fiasco and Australian actress Isabel Lucas, will be setting off to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise awareness about the global clean water crisis.

The Summit on the Summit expedition is set to take place in January and the celebrity climbers have a 19,000 foot journey ahead of them.

Founder of the project, singer and producer Kenna, says:

"We wanted to make sure there was a way people knew this was an issue and a way for them to do something about it. This is a global issue. It's not an Africa problem. It's not a South America problem. It's a world, global problem. In America, 11 million people go without water."

You can follow the climb online as well as make donations on their website. Even a dollar donation can provide 1,000 liters of clean water!

More celebrity climbers are expected to be announced soon.

Perhaps Justin Timberlake will be joining his girlfriend?

That is, if they're not on the rocks!

good for her. looks like she's finding something to do in between her shitty straight-to-dvd movies

    3. 3

So…she's going to climb a big mountain because people don't have clean water? Why not, you know, bring them some clean water??

    4. 4

…let me know when she reaches the top and decides to jump off.

    5. 5

      do something new!
celebs have already climb the mountain for charity (comic relief) last year

    6. 6

Its not hard to climb that mountain. Very touristy….

    7. 7

      and get your story right…

i'd like to climb and mount Jessica Biel. Timberdude, throw me your left overs

    14. 14

That is admirable. Good for her! I'd like to see those who are jealous and trashing her to try the same climb. They'd probably be crying for their mommies after a couple of hundred feet.

If you actually knew anything about the people you write about you'd know Justin was on board for this climb from the beginning. He talked about it on his visit with Oprah and the article he did for GQ magazine. He's been in training for it for months now.

just gotta say shes wearing lululemon!!! best yoga wear EVER. and perez you rock my world! love your site and you!!

      Re: marlow

Actually, babies and their mommies could make this climb. Like someone said before, it is very touristy, an easy climb with porters to carry all of your heavy stuff for you. In fact, its more like hiking a trail than "climbing" a mountain. Not an impressive feat by any stretch of the imagination.

      -
Kilimanjaro is a cinder cone, a very easy to climb mountain - no challenge there
      -
agreed with most people posting; if she really gave two shits about people not getting fresh water she'd bring them water….and do so whilst not shamelessly seek publicity for her miserable excuse for a career (and fruit fly "boyfriend")

      19,000 feet = a 3 and a half mile JOURNEY.

    20. 20

whoa! congrats and good luck jessy

    21. 21

You don't really have to climb it, you can stride all the way up. but the scenery is beautiful, especially at night.

    22. 22

      WOW!!! U GO GIRL!!!!

    23. 23

My 76 year old grandpa climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. (At age 76)
Anyone can do it with the proper training.

    24. 24

I agree, instead of climbing a friggin mountain..just BRING people clean water…seriously I need to become a philanto-lady or whatever, because these people don't know what the fuck their doing…

    25. 25

Honestly, Jessica? Could you please put a "little" lipstick on your cold, dead face? You're beautiful, but, please, help us out here.

    26. 26

seriously- how does hiking help to "global clean water crisis"? we know there's a problem, show us how you're helping, inspire us to help too. fucking hiking around and complaining about a world problem? great, thanks. she's so out to lunch, and ridiculously bland. boring!

    27. 27

I'd make a donation to that site if she'd climb K2 (without oxygen tanks). That would be a newsworthy accomplishment. Kilimanjaro is nothing.

    28. 28

when my medical staff and I went to tanzania to bring medical care to the small villages we decided on our last day to climb that mountain and it wasn't that bad at all, and like someone said about old people climbing it, our surgeon was 63yrs old and he did it.

    29. 29

She looks like my mom its freaky

    30. 30

Kilimanjaro isn't THAT intense of a mountain. It's hardish, but not impossible for those who aren't mountain climbers. Kids can climb it.
      So, I'm not impressed.

    31. 31

I bet she could do it too.

    32. 32

Re: lulu1975 – Lol, a very good point.

    33. 33

REALLY???? 11 million people go without water IN AMERICA? Where?????

    34. 34

You say it like she is the first person to do it.

    35. 35

OMG I AM STUUUUUNNNNNNED YOU DIDNT MAKE FUN OF HER OR HER BF?? YOU DIDN'T IMPLY THAT THEY WEREN'T BF AND GF IN FACT YOU CALLED JT HER BF SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER DONE! OMG? YOU ARE NOT PEREZ!!! GHOST WRITER GHOST WRITER!

    36. 36

Loved her in Texas Chainsaw. She and Justin make a cute couple!

    37. 37

      Please fall!
And I won't go on tv or blame anybody.

    38. 38

You don't need to be an athlete to climb Kilimanjaro. Granted, the last stage is pretty tough out of Kibu Hut (the last rest station) as you climb during the night, but you just need some stamina and a warm outfit. Better to see it asap as the snows of Kilimajaro will be gone for good (melted away) in a few years.

    39. 39

There climbing it in January right im doing it then too! but at the start of the month i hope i see them
